I don't know what is wrong but I have been down in the dumps for the past two days. This is not like me at all. I am hoping that it is just all that has been going on lately. Having to put my dog to sleep and then my daughter-in-law's horse accident has really taken a toll on me.

Hi ! You maybe too exhausted with so many responsibilities and issues in family . Sometimes also we felt some sadness where i we can not even tell as to where it came from , Science can explain this , accordingly this is due to some hormonal imbalance.
Don't worry too much for that , it happens to everybody such as me sometimes even in whole week i am also so sad. Remedy for that is to go out and have some shopping or eating session. It will divert your sad emotion or you can do aslo things which will make you easily smile.

I will, I will. As you probably noticed I just turned the computer off and went and read. I don't get down like that and when I do I sure don't like it. I guess everything is adding up and I am worried about not having enough for the move. Have a great Sunday.

I would say that life is a series of ups and downs. Happiness has to have sadness or it would not exist, and we would all become neutral and life then would be unbearable. As a therapist and Zen practitioner, throughout my career I have supported my clients in connecting totally with the down times, as an attempt to resist by distraction or "trying to cheer up", will only cause more stress, especially when the mind has not resolved the issues involved in feeling down. We do not resit happiness, so therefore it tends to fade away, but it is because we resist our sadder moments, they get to hang around a lot longer. Things change in life and changes can feel somewhat scary at times, so our mind ends up resisting change of all sorts, even the positive changes sometimes. _Derek

Thanks, Derek. I really learned a lot from your comment. I read it three times to make sure I was understanding what you said. This all does make sense. I do believe I can handle my down times in a better light now. Thank goodness I don't get them very often. Have a great day and thanks again.

It's very understandable to feel depressed when things aren't going exactly how we want. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog and your daughter's horse. We all need a grieving period to put things back into perspective. I hope you start feeling better soon. ?

Thanks, Djbrat. Things are better for me and I hope they stay like that. I have a lot going on and I guess I just let those two incidents get to me. I started doing yoga again and I feel that is helping. Plus all the kind words and prayers that I have received here on MyLot. Everyone is great here.

It's a crazy world where anything can happen at any time but somehow we have to keep going.

Hi velvet, I think that this is a result of what you have been experiencing lately and you will be back to your old self soon.Your daughter-in-law's accident must have been a big worry and having to put a pet to sleep is never easy. We miss them for a long time. Blessings.

Thanks, Pose123. I am a lot better today. I do believe that those finally got to me. Plus I am trying to get ready to move in June. i know it is a ways off but I am pushing hard to make sure that I have the funds needed for the move. It seems like something is always coming up that is costing money so I have to dig into my moving fund. Ugh!

Life certainly has a way of getting you down. I struggle with depression and with staying positive on a daily basis. Keep your chin up. Things will work out. Remember that God is in control...

What is good here is that you have recognised the reasons while you feeel down in the dumps. many others would not know and then perhaps would be depressed for a longer period. Putting a dog down is a traumatic experience as you miss him/her and then your DIL being sick. Don't be hard on yourself and you will soon be all right again

Thanks, cynthiann. It has been rough time. Kessa was so much a part of me and there are times when I wake up at night and reach out to pet her. She was always there for me. I am thankful that my DIL is doing well and getting around ok. That helps a bunch.

I am so sorry you are feeling down. I know what it is to lose a dog, as almost a year ago, on April 16th, my dog passed away, but she had b een sick, and was hospitalized overnight one night because he has real high blood suger which was over 1000. They did manage to get it down to under 300, but by then, the damage was already done, as i brought her back home on a Friday, and on Sunday night during the night, she passed away. I heard her take her make a sound that I never heard before, and I didn't know that it was her last breath, and when I got up in the morning to take care of her, she was gone. I grieved for the longest time, but I did finally get another dog, that I rescued from the pund, and she is a sweet heart, and very loving, along with my other dog, that I already had. I am sorry to hear about your daughter- in-law too, and I hope that everything is o9kay with her as well. I also hope you get to feeling better soon. Just keep your mind occupied with other things, and you will feel better in not time. Take care, and have a very good day.

Thanks, rosekiss. I am sorry about your loss also. A year isn't that long and now matter what we will always remember them. I am doing better today. I went over and worked in Dottie's garage, a new post to be made. I got lots of fresh air then I went over to some friends house for awhile. Guess I need to get out like that more often. I hope you are having a good day.

Hi Velvet!
At some points in our lives we all experience that. Don't worry much, it will soon pass. Just always stay strong till that storm passes through.
God bless you, my friend.

I hope you will try to look at the brighter side of your life that at least your daughter-in-law is recuperating and it is a good news. Do not let the stress overtaken you but overcome it instead. Everyday there is darkness and day eventually will come . Life is such, ups and downs. So, when we are down we should try to overcome it with gladness and hope...then a brighter days will be awaiting us !

Thanks, emily. things are better today. I kind of gave myself a lecture for getting down like that for no real reason. I went to Dottie's today and worked on her garage for a couple of hours then went and visited some friends. I just have so much to do and so little time but it will all get done. I think I was thinking too much about that stuff yesterday.

You have had some stress lately so I can understand why your feeling this way. Anyone would in your situation. Having to put your dog down must have been so hard and then your daughter in law's accident too, I'm sorry. I really hope you feel more like yourself again soon!

Hi velvet, I am sorry you are not feeling yourself these past
few days,,,but it seems like you have some issues going in your
life now so you are entitled to have a few days of feeling down.
for I am sure your dog meant a lot to you...But just remember
that there are many others who have a lot worst problem than
you..there was some one here on mylot this past week who was
talking about cutting their wrist ending their life..So do
your greiveing and know that you are somebody and that your
life is worth living to the fullest extent...
We all get in a funk sometimes and there is not always
a justifiable reason....but I am hoping that you will feel better
real soon....God Bless !!!!

Thanks,bjc66bjc. Yes, I commented on her posts and sure hope she is doing better. I know that today she had more happen. I usually don't get down but losing my dog and then my daughter-in-laws accident kind of all got to me. My problems are so minor compared to many others and I feel kind of bad whining like I did. Course I don't share my problems with people where I live.
