I guess every other kid dreams of being either a doctor or a teacher. But when I was in pre-school, I wanted to be a flight attendant. Guess I was born with wanderlust in my blood. I wanted to see and go to wonderful places even at a young age. Even if I didn't get to be an FA, I am proud to say I have one of the noblest roles-- a mother and a wife. :)

i ended up doing same thing as you, raising my family. i was going to school to be lawyer and had to give that up due to mental illness. now, i am staying at home raising my family. i never dreamed that this is what i REALLY want to do. yes, you are right. it is one of the noblest roles.

We all have dreams while growing up. But being a home maker, a full-time mom, a housewife and raising a family all rolled into one can bring us happiness even more than our dreams can. Cheers to all mothers! :)

I do, too. I feel really lucky because I know some moms would love to be there to witness every milestone in their children's lives but could not because of certain circumstances. It's priceless to just be with our kids.

when i was a child, i told my elders that i want to be a nurse. but when i graduated high school, they were against about my plan to enroll this course. because before, nurse do not have a good salary and that they ended up as volunteers with low paying in the hospitals. so they discouraged me not to be. that was why, i enrolled computer course, but after graduation, i wasn't able to get a good job in this line of work pertaining to computers or IT. that was why i i decided to do something good and useful. i find a job and even how low is the salary, i grab it so that i could have money to pay for my tuition fees. yes, i shifted to another course and that was education. i graduated last march, and i am waiting for the board exams to occur this coming september. so best wishes for me.
what i observed is that, do not plan alone and if you do it, consult or uplift it to God. He will be the over all incharge of your aspirations in life pertaining to your career and decisions in life:)

hi lizzie :)
God does not want us to depend on ourselves or to any people here on earth. He wanted us to have faith in Him and to Him alone. we should and that is the right thing to do, we are just human incapable of perfections and could commit mistakes. life is happy with Him, i so believe. thanks :)

Hello there, missjahn. Couldn't agree with you more. God really helps us in planning our future. I guess that's the reason why we don't end up with the same goal as we grow up. We get redirected by God, because only He knows what's really best for us.

Being a mother is a great great task. We might not be compensated with money for all our efforts and hard work, but our kids are more than enough. Right?

I wanted to be an actress but stage fright got the better of me and I ended up being an executive secretary. I loved my job for the most part. I was good at it and I was appreciated and rewarded many times over for my work ethics. I was also a mom to two girls and held it all together by the grace of God. Thankfully we are all good today with them having their families and I'm retired living on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. I now hope in my next life I get to be a good actress or singer.

Wow. It's great that even if you were not able to live out your childhood dream, you were able to be a good mother. Our dreams motivates us, and I guess it indirectly took you to something that could give you fulfillment. Cheers!

It's cool to hear from people who actually realized their childhood dreams. :) I wish I could also sail in a ship, in a cruise ship, perhaps. Best of luck! :)

Hye lizziegee,
definitely, everyone seems to have a childhood ambition.
It's nice to hear that you are currently happy with your life and that is very good. SO waht if you did not get to be a flight attendant? It does not matter as long as you are happy now.
For me, i had differnt childhood ambitions. I remember in the beginning i wanted to be a teacher and then for a period i wanted to be a policman. However, i'm currently 23 and no where near these two goals. I've changed and after evaluation, i'm most probably going to take over my dad's optical business.

People change indeed. But if it's a constructive change, always go for it! Besides, taking over a family business seems awesome. It's a legacy that you, too can pass to your family's future generations. Good luck and all the best! :)

Isn't so funny that when we our childhood dream is different now that we are old enough? I can attest to that. When I was young I really wanted to be an actress, I wanna be in the Entertainment industry, but it seems like it is not for me. To be an actress you must be beautiful enough, you must have a sexy body.
My childhood dream did not come true but I am happy where I am. I am Nurse who took care in helping other people.

I guess the bottomline is, even when our childhood dreams are so far from where we are today, the motivation we got from those big dreams brought us to where we really belong and to what would really make us happy and contented. :)

I could not tell you what I wanted to be as a kid because I honestly did not know,it seemed most kids had dreams of what they wished to be but I never did all the way until I left school,so I ended up falling into a job I did not really enjoy, but as I have got older I now know that I love writing and am working on doing this full time in the future, this as also taught me the importance of getting my children interested in things and looking to the future.

I believe that our choices guide us to where we really are intended to be. Even if you didn't like your first job, at least now you know what you really want to do, right? Good luck on your future endeavors. :)

Right! When we're young we think everything is so easy, but we realize how difficult things are when we get older. I don't like the sight of blood, too, BTW :)

it is a coincidence that being a flight attendant is also my childhood dream.when i was a child, i thought the flight attendant were the most beautiful women in the world. they were all slim, beautiful in straight uniform, walking spiritedly with a suitcase behind .and i dreamd of being that kind of woman in future.now i become fat and nearsighted and far away from my childhood dream,i still insist on my first opinion that they are most beautiful.

Hi Tina. :) I also looked up to flight attendants in that way. They were all so poised and composed and with that perpetual smile on their pretty faces.

I had a very simple dream. I wanted to be a sewer/dressmaker when I was young. Actually my daughter asked me also about it one time and when I told her about my dream she said. She pitied me...because I was not able to realize my dream.
Have a wonderful day!
