Do you need a mediator to confess to God, I've always wonder why my christian brothers have such a belief that they need a witness for their confession so that they go to church and do their confession to the priests. As we all know God is all seeing and all knowing, then why do you need a witness against the God? Clearly there is something wrong about it, is it not ?

You do not need a witness to a confession. And God does not need a mediator on His behalf. He IS God. He is the God who will judge YOU. So why is there a witness? There is nothing wrong with your question, dear. The answer is that God is the Almighty. God can do anything. Don't have others witness on your behalf. If you are secure in your feelings with God and you live by his Word, you will know right from wrong. We are put in a grave one at a time...we go alone. If we live right, we do not have to fear.

Confession for me is an affirmation, that a sinner acknowledges that he have sinned. I respect why Christians do this, because this is how beliefs goes. I am a catholic and going to confession, is something worth doing for, after confession, I feel like being relieved. the important thing is, though we know God is always there, and he is all knowing, we should not do and avoid in committing the same sin again and again.

In my view, confession is ridiculous because nobody is a sinner. Every human being is perfect. Confession was started by the church in order to wield power over the masses. I am against confession. It is also not a nice thing to tell a priest about your so-called sins. After all, your sins are your sins and they are private business.

The first step in solving any problem is realizing you have a problem. I guess confession fills that. With that said it serves only the person confessing. God doesn't need to hear it and no one needs a middleman between them and God in spite of what any religion is telling you.

God not need a mediator between Him Almighty and us , so if I did a sin , I repent to Him , and ask Him to forgive it, He is the God , merciful , forgiver .

Well, actually they don't need that as what Jesus said. John 8:14-18 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. 16 But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 17 In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. 18 I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me.”
