Travel Your Own Place, Before You Travel To Other Places

Before, I use to follow that motto... I said to myself that I will travel to half of our islands before I go abroad. But when I had the chance, i traveled abroad. And it was so addicting... Good thing I was able to travel to some of parts of the Philippines before I traveled elsewhere because from there you will learn how to appreciate what we have in our own place and also learn how to value it and protect it... I agree with you that Region 8 has a lot of hidden gems. I have spotted 2. Biliran and Calicoan island...

Hey i get what you mean. Many a times, we want to travel to very far away place. But before that, we should really take a good look at our own country first before flying off to other places :) As for me, i'm a singaporean. If you know singapore, we are a very very small country, just a very small dot on the mat. However, our neighbouring country, malaysia is very huge which gives me ample opportunities to travel there and to experience many wonderful things. However, my fmaily and I seldom travel to malaysia and we only have visited a few spots. My mum especially went to US, UK, Europe and a few other places but we have nto yet fully explore malaysia which i believe have many beautiful places.

I think that it's a great idea! How I wish I would be able to do the same. I would certainly love to Vigan, Pagudpud, Palawan, Bohol, Zamboanga, Cebu and Davao.

True! It really is more fun in the Philippines. :) I love Boracay, Batangas and Palawan. The Philippines could have the title of "Summer Capital of the World". It would be well-deserved. :)

I dream how wonderful it will be when I visit the Philippines in the future. Yes, it has many different islands to explore. I live in England and last year I spent one week in Cornwall. In the spring, summer and autumn of 2011 I went to visit one new place per month. These were places up to 4 hours from where I live. In the summer I had a week in Yorkshire up in Scarborough. I did days out from it. I have always rushed off exploring overseas and my next trip will be Eastern Europe.

I think that it is a great idea to explore your own region first. When you have visited your own region you can move on to other parts of your country. I have never been to the Philippines, but I imagine that there are a lot of beautiful and interesting places to visit. I am from a small country in northern Europe and many people from my country prefer to visit other countries before they explore our own country, but personally I like to explore my own country. We don't have as many islands as you do, but we have about 400 islands so there are plenty of places to explore. It is one of my goals to visit as many islands as possible.

good day to you, what you have shared is really a good idea. as they say, before you go out from your own vicinity, try to visit and discover first the goodness of your own community. just like what you have wrote, that you want to travel first on the place within your own country before going out to other country. but as for me here, i will grab whatever comes first....

You're right! I also thought of that! I promised to myself to travel to different places with my family. I hope it will be realized soon enough. I hope things will fall into places. I hope and pray I will get the right job for me to sustain the things I need. First, I want to travel first the places in the Philippines. I want to explore first my own country before abroad.

I agree with you that exploring your own country first is important and quite patriotic. I'm afraid, though, that I will do that not only for patriotic purposes but also because I want to get a feel of how it feels like to travel locally before I move up to the international level. I think going to faraway places without previous experience.

I agree with you. Most Filipinos are foreign to Philippines and sadly, that includes me. There are so many places I've never been to nor heard of that's why I want to put that and make it my target. I'd rather go around the country and experience the Philippines first before travelling around the world. And I hope to accomplish that someday :)

That's a very good idea. In our region there is many places i never gone yet. Before trying to know about outside regions, we should look at first at our regions. There's a lot of places to visit and explore like going foothills, small villages, or visit some historical place nearby. thanks

yes, traveling is really a very attractive thing .when i am bored with my daily work and want to try something new, i just want to travel some places which are different from our place.when i travel to some place, i can see different views,meet different persons,eat different snacks even hear different voices.all of these make me exciting.i can forget the troubles or unhappy things in my life,consider many things in differet way.i love traveling even if i feel exhausted when i get back.
