It's taken me a few hours to get used to it but I quite like our second Whirly Lamp being next to me on my computer.
Before John goes to bed I have the uplighter on only and it can be dimmed, which is brilliant. The one near John is on full as the light at that end of the room is poor otherwise. Because 'my' Whirly Lamp is right next to me I can dim it.
I do use my task lamp (you can just see it on the right in the photo) that I bought a while ago as it actually cost more than the floor lamp at the time, so I need to get my money's worth out of it. I use it alongside the Whirly Lamp once John has gone to bed, as the task lamp on its own was a bit..er..dim.
The photograph shows you the Whirly Lamp in full. The photo of the other one didn't show the base so much, so you can now see one in all its glory lol.
Still can't believe I paid less for the two than one at full price.
Apparently, BHS sell over 1 million lights every year and, judging by the quality of mine so far, I'm not surprised.

It is so cheap that you have to pinch yourself to make sure it is true.As for price, sometimes you can't account for why it is.It seems to depend on your luck.Just as a saying here goes,"find it by chance after travelling far and wide in search of it."

We have that self-same lamp , but I've got mine next to my chair in the lounge. We have had it for a few years now, and the switch broke, but I took it off and bypassed it so have to switch it off from the wall now. I could get another switch that would hang outside of the casing, but not got around to it yet. I like uplighters because they don't dazzle the eyes. You computer seat looks nice and comfortable there _Derek

Believe me, that seat is on its way out. I've had it 12 years would you believe and it wobbles now (not me, the seat lol) and I'm frightened it's going to collapse with me on it. We haven't got a big enough screw to put underneath (one of them is missing) which explains the wobbliness.
Haha!

Thanks! It's on as I type this and I love the fact it's an up-lighter, therefore it won't hurt my eyes.

It does look good there. And now you have extra added light when you need it when you're online. Nice!!!! I like your little work station you have. Good luck with the lamp. And always be MyLotting. Or any other site that you're in the mood for.
