Since I've been on here last

I was doing two chemos with one week off. But I missed because I was very ill with allergies. The last time I missed, the cancer took off. So I did 3 weeks of chemo with one week off. That was a big mistake in a way. I could take a shower and then I had to go back to bed. I could eat breakfast and then I would have to go back to bed. So it went. When I went back to my Dr., he had me test and the cancer had stopped so he said I could take some time off because I was exhausted. So he gave me 8 weeks off. It took a long time for the skin to heal on my feet because they were really raw and for me to be able to slow do more and more before I had to go back to bed. Then he had me come back for testing to see how I did. The cancer in my lungs is not there any more, there are scars where they used to be. But the cancer in the liver had increased. I asked him if he could account for that. He said that he could not. I told him that I could, I had been inhaling hydrogen peroxide. 3% food grade just sprayed into the air, not up my nose. But I had tried to put some in water to drink, but it made me sick to my stomach. He really didn't want to hear about it. He was more interested in how do we get the cancer in the liver to go away. So now he's researching options for me. In the meantime, I mixed up some of my meds and ended up taking a diuretic (water pill for high blood pressure) 2xs in one day instead of one because it looked just like another pill. So my potassium level was low. Borderline for a transfusion. So now I have another brand of allergy pill that doesn't look like it and will get a pill minder box that has AM and PM boxes instead of just daily boxes so I don't do that again. I was wondering why I could stay up for about 3 or 4 hours at a time and suddenly I was back to one or less hours at a time. So it's taken everything just to do anything. I have a friend who is coming in once a week now and helping me so that I can try to keep up with the house. Sorry I haven't been around, but just trying to do daily living and keeping myself clean has been a full time job with all the sleep I was doing inbetween. It's good to be back and I hope I can stay back. Thanks for all your prayers. I have the cancer out of my lungs, now for the liver.

Oh writer, I feel bad for not contacting you, I would get the notification I set up for myself, and kept meaning to write, but this semester is a nightmare and thankfully it will be over in a couple weeks. I am glad you are still around, you don't have to be active here, your friends know what you are going through. Thanks for the update, I will continue to pray, take care and get some rest..

I wasn't here for you to contact. Long distance calls cost a fortune. I was mostly bedridden until recently. My bed is on the second floor and the first floor phone just rings and rings when I can't get up. Never, ever, feel badly my friend. We all do what we can do and the rest has to slide. I know this now more than ever. I hope your college turns out well. I need your continued prayers. Have faith, you are doing what you can for me when you pray. Peace and love to you and yours.

I am so glad to see you. It is good that your alternative treatment for your lungs is working. I am not sure what to think about the liver. I have been reading a lot about different vegetables and many of them are said to detox the liver. I have not felt I needed that necessarily, but I have had some other health issues that I was treating conventionally. I went on a spinach "binge" just because I really like spinach and it seems to be taking care of a problem I have had for a couple of years. It makes me happy and I feel good. I only mention this because cooked spinach is getting rave reviews on many health sites. My grocery store runs sales of ten bags for ten dollars and I buy them. I also buy raw spinach and dark leafy greens for any salads. Just lots of color all the way around. I hear beets, asparagus and mushrooms are really good too. Good idea to sort out your pills.

My issue has been constipation ever since I had foot surgery and took quite a few pain killers. I became very sedentary and that also did not help. I got off to doing the spinach when I was baking up crustless quiche or egg casserole for us to have fast breakfasts. I just began eating spinach more often when I noticed it was having a very good effect on me. I have tried all kinds of "fiber bars" and fiber additives and nothing worked. A good side effect is my hematocrit was 15 last week when I gave platelets. That is the top of the chart. Perhaps you and your hubby together need to think about some of these powerful veggies as well as perhaps sweet potatoes. It is almost like I can feel the nourishment in my body.

I think I have those in my yard. Probably same value as spinach but home grown.

When I first got cancer, I couldn't get enough of sweet potatoes. They have lots of potassium for my blood pressure, but two years later. Yeah, chemo and then antibiotics for an infection, what a mess that made of my bowls for a while. Even day after day of yogurt didn't seeme to help until all the chemo and antibiotics were out of my body. I can't wait until the plantain weeds are up. The leaves, seeds, and seed hulls are very, very helpful. Got to love those weeds!

Thank you very much. A couple of weeks ago, I lost a cousin to pancreatic and liver cancer. He was so strong and brave. You wouldn't think that of a person in his 70s, but he was amazing. You'd think he was 20 years younger than that at least until it got into the liver ducks. I'm sure your friend was amazing and my heart goes out to you. Thank you for writing back to me and everyone has been so quick, too.

hello writersedge, its lovely to hear from you. I was thinking about you just the other day and wondering how you were. sounds like its been a bit of a struggle, but as you say the cancer in your lungs is now gone, even if you still have a battle to fight. Its good to hear you have support from your friends and family, and hope you will begin to feel less exhausted soon.

Yes, you are very, very correct that I am very, very lucky that I feel well other than exhausted. Many people are not soooo lucky as me. Thank you for your chants. I'm sure they've helped me get this well so far. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for updating us on your health. I have been here off and on and I knew you had been having some issues in the past, but I did not realize how bad things really were. That the cancer in your lungs is gone. Now hopefully you will kick the liver cancer as well.

Yes, it spread thru my lymph system to a few other places. Yes, it's terrific that it is gone from my lungs. Now for the liver! Thank you for your words of encouragement. I was knocked down, but now I'm back.

Hello. So good to see you back. I was wondering about you. Yes, now for the liver. Glad to hear the lungs are good. Mixing your pills isn't good. Nice of your friend to come and help you out. Hope you are able to come back here occasionally. Take care of yourself first though. We will try to continue to do without you until you are in the pink. Take care.

I missed you all very much. It's been so hard. I hope to be healthy enough to be here more often. "Battle on Xena!" That was a nickname someone gave me at one point.

It's good that you have made it back to myLot. The AM/PM pill minder box sounds like a good idea. It can be a pain to keep things straight when you are taking multiple types of pills. Garlic and cumin are supposed to both be good for liver cancer. If garlic isn't already a major part of your diet, it wouldn't hurt to increase its prominence in your diet. It's something that should play a significant role in pretty much everyone's diet.

Tumeric is supposed to be great at fighting cancer, too. Garlic used to keep my bloodpressure down, but will all that's happened, it doesn't now. Yes, garlic does so many wonderful things that it should be in all the people's diets who can stomach it. Some people it is a bit too much for.
