My first job was being a health care associate from a well-known BPO company in the Philippines. It was a relatively easy job where I had to take calls and speak with professionals. I was lucky enough to be assigned in that campaign because most of my friends from the same industry got mostly irate calls every shift. It was a welcome bonus that the office was located in a beautiful park. Every time I passed through it, I get rid of all my worries and I stop getting tired of the graveyard shifts. :)
Did you enjoy your first job?

First job I had was as a roustabout. I was probably about 12 years old when I worked up to three shearing sheds a season in the winter school holidays. Mostly sweeping duties, some minor classing duties, a little bit of yard work, some baling work & throwing fleeces. Can recall getting paid at most $5 a season. Hours were long. Get up at 4:30am, pack everything, travel long distances, knock off at 5:00pm. Two smoke-o breaks a day & an hour for lunch. Made me feel very Australian!

I actually started much younger, at about 8 years old in the shed on our property, but only started travelling from age 12 when I was tall enough (so they thought) to see over the wool table & start throwing fleeces. The idea was to help dad so he wouldn't have to work so hard. It just made both of us really tired so that all we did, day in day out, was sleep, eat & work. Good blokes all of them, fresh air & hard work - the ultimate cure for school work! If you want a negative take, it was nothing short of forced child labour & I really had no say in the matter. Plenty of other kids like me there in the same boat. Farmers have an instant work-force on demand... just have more kids!

I heard that a fast food crew job is really tiresome. Best wishes on your present job! It's good that you're now enjoying what you do for a living. Cool!

I have a BPO job too, in the call center industry as a credit card officer and it was my first job - an agent and we have a normal shift though latest was 8pm and well it sure was fun then nd enjoyable because it seemed as though we were in training all through out. all of us started in the job altogether, fresh graduates and we have become one big group of friends. hehe it was cool and great then because we have a lot of perks too (technically BPO was new then and benefits were quite better than other companies...)
I enjoyed my first job and stayed in that company for 6 years or so. :D

My first jobs ever was flipping burgers at burger king, it wasn't really flipping burgers though more of putting frozen patties on this conveyor belt things and getting them as they dropped out of the other side. I definitely didn't enjoy this job and because I was fifteen at the time it wasn't required that I be paid minimum wage.
So I was working this horrible job and only earning $5.50 an hour. It would take me roughly twenty hours of work just to earn around one hundred dollars and I am so glad that I no longer have to work that job earning virtually nothing to get covered in super nasty food and basically poison people with the garbage that is fast food.

My first job was being an Administrative Secretary at a private school in Philippines. It was not the best job at all since I also take teaching substitution whenever there's a teacher who's absent, not added to my pay though but I'm thankful for the experience.

Most first jobs give us a welcome experience to help us when we finally land on the job we really want. At least, you had the experience. :)

I didn't enjoy my first job because at that time I was studying on college. It was very hard, because I should manage my time wisely. Besides, the salary wasn't enough for my life. And I felt tired. Finally I resigned from my job and continue my study.

Yes I do! In fact, I'm still in my first company for 9 years already and I do love it since we have many ladders for promotion.

Just like you, My first job was also in a BPO Industry. I worked as a Listener Care Representative. Here in our place, there is only one BPO Industry. I had fun, enjoyed, learned a lot in working as a LCR. I never regret working there, although I left work with an aching feeling, I'm better now.

Hi there!
My first job was as an English teacher for koreans, japanese and chinese. It was a fun job because I get to interact with different kinds of people. I improved my English skills there as well. The company held classes for teachers to polish their skills and also to clear up any misconceptions about the language, particularly in grammar.
Now I am still looking for a job. I recently applied as nurse in a diagnostic lab. I prefer them to hospitals, because being in hospitals makes one very stressed.
I also considered taking the job of a health care associate. It's the same with HMO right or a call center agent involved with health care accounts? Correct me if I am wrong.
What company are you working for?
Oh, and congrats on your job, it's great that you enjoy it.

what does a health care associate do? based on craziest queen's response and your post, it seems there are many kinds of agents in the call center industry.
i wish all business districts had parks where people can hang out, get some fresh air, see the sun, stretch their legs, clear their heads.

Hello. :))) As a health care associate, we handled medicine requests, some claims and customer service like if they inquire if this certain patient is covered for this surgery. Hospital stuff. :) I enjoyed it because all you had to do was sit and speak with people on the phone. I loved my job so much because I had great co-workers who were all so willing to help me since I was a first-timer.
Oh, the park was of big help to me. It relieves me of the stress and pressure. :)

Couldn't you have worked part-time? I mean, go to school in the day and work on your free time?

I didn't enjoy my first job. At that time I was studying in a college. It's very hard because I should manage my time wisely, and very often I was scolded by my boss because sometimes I was late. The salary wasn't enough for my life. Finally I resigned from my job and continue studying
