Eating When You Are Bored....

I am guilty of this and I have been doing it a lot lately. I eat when I am bored. Even when I am not hungry. I do try to distract myself by watching TV, listening to music or playing the PS3 etc but it doesn't always work.
Do you eat out of boredom? What do you do to keep yourself occupied so you don't eat?
I mean it is fine to eat but for someone like me who has been extremely bored lately, I'm running out of ideas to do something fun besides eating too much.
Would love to hear if you have or are going through the same thing or if you have any suggestions to stop someone from bored eating.
Happy MyLotting.

Might be why this gal weighs just 120 lbs here. I never, ever get bored. No time for that.

I also eat whem I am bored and the only suggestion I have is that you don`t have around some snacks that are easy to eat and that have too much fat or carbs. I don`t buy chocolate because I`m addict to it. I wonder if pop corn is so fattening, if you make them no salt, no butter or sugar.

Hello marguicha!
Well that's the thing too, if I'm hungry, I can actually be bothered making something like steak or chips or even a fruit salad which is healthy at least. :p
Thank you so very much for answering. :)

Are you an emotional eater? It's mind over matter. You can control your eating habits. Eating while bored will gain weights, I better sleep rather than eating.

Hello craziestqueenever! ( like your name by the way haha )
Nah I wouldn't say I am an emotional eater because I seem to have the opposite affect when I am feeling down. I don't eat if something is bothering me. I will just have to try harder not to eat I guess.
Thank you very much for answering. :)

I have had this problem in the past but the older I get it's just not so much a problem. Also it really does help not to have easily available junk food. I try to have just real food, that must be cooked, because I generally don't want to bother with cooking unless I'm truly hungry. I don't always deprive myself though. If I really want choclate I will buy a chocolate bar and save it till the end of the day, as a special treat. As oppossed to buying a whole bag of chocolate and pig out on it.
One thing you can try is to delay eating and do something else. If it's just bordom you will get involved and forget about eating.
We all have to find what works for us. Good luck to you.

Hello almostlate!
Good idea. I have tried that but even, I start cooking things haha Maybe I need to get my dad to lock the food up. I really need to diet lol
That is a good idea. I do watch TV or come on mylot but still get bored. Maybe I need to do something different instead of doing the same things everyday. Maybe this is why I am getting bored.
For now though, it all comes down to will power too.
Thank you so very much for answering. :)
