People talks about home and away matches in IPL. For Sachin, all the grounds in India is home for him. Similarly for all Indian players all grounds are like home condition as they play domestic cricket through out the India. So, I think their is nothing like any team having edge over other team because of home conditions. It's all in the mind.

Probably it doesn't matter that much if you talk about playing in India and in other country, but crowd support matters. when 80% of the stadium is supporting your team you will perform better this is moral support.
Please don't talk about Sachin, he is an Exception always. If you notice whenever he comes in people support him and when he gets out crowd start supporting their home team. That's his magic.

Yes, there can be section of crowd who only root for local franchisee team. Yet, such people could be fewer than expected.

Yes, crowd supports their home team but not with great enthusiasm as happen in international cricket. If Dhoni gets out in Chennai, the stadium never gets into silent mode. The cheers are always on. The roar is always on. And so many are there to see a good match rather than seeing their home team win easily. People are there to see a nail biting match. You will not find many who are ardent fan of a single franchise.

There are, and specifically for RCB and CSK.... in last match when Dhoni got out they were shocked even when Sir Jadeja was there... there are fans who comes in Eden garden only to support KKR. They can't see KKR losing any match.

India is a big country so there are some variations in the type of pitches in different states.

But all Indian domestic players play on all ground during Ranji Tophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Trophy and so many of that. They are used to all kind of pitches in India.
See Virat Kohli has played his cricket in Delhi, than how could Banglore could be his home ground. When he plays in Delhi, don't he feel that he is playing in his home ground.

Yes, in a way it does not matter since any domestic pitch is a home ground for the Indian players. However, it does makes a difference. Rajasthan Royals would know just a wee bit more about Jaipur than Mohali or say Delhi ground. Likewise, Chennai Super Kings would be better at Chennai than say Bangalore or Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Well some players are good against spin and poor against pace bowling. Some like bouncing tracks and some flat pitches. Whatever Sachin is legend and he is comfortable on almost every pitch that he comes across. So we cannot compare him with young players or with anyone from Indian cricket. In my view if pitch is assisting bowlers they will make batsmen dance according to their tunes, only great batsmen will not dance according to bowlers tunes if they are having great technique in batting. Same is the chase with bowlers. What ever a good player will try to perform well on any pitch. Consistence is key for a good player. In T20 look game is fast and a player need to be good fielder and good batter if he is only batsman. Finally current form is also very key.

Actually this idea is inspired from EPL ,that might be one of the reasons.I am not aware that in IPL curators of the home grounds of different teams are allowed to prepare pitches which suit the home team like it happens in Ranji,it has to be like that away otherwise home and away conditions logic does not make any sense.Best wishes.

It seems less likely that such a preference for kind of pitch is shown by curator for IPL matches.

Hello
Yes even I have heard those words, and nothing right in it. Away conditions are only for those player who are not from India. For all Indian players it is home condition wherever they play. They are surely using wrong words here.

Yes for foreign players playing most of the matches in one state, they are used to it, so they can call that as their home but still for away players the whole india is like away conditions.

What you are telling is right about sachin and other senior plays in all ground in india and they are quite familiar with the conditions. But pitches can be set to strengthen your players ability and weaken your oppositions ability.Like I give an example you all are quite familiar with KKR spin bowler Sunil Narine he is the best spin bowler in this IPL tournament so KKR's home ground Kolkata make pitches that will help sunil narine in his spin bowling. But when KKR plays away matches the opponent team will not give any chance to Sunil Narine and will make pitches that will not help spin bowlers.I think I made it clear...

But there are strict instructions from bcci to make sporting pitches which doesn't support much spin and with true bounce and also not to make tailor-made wicket for home team. I think all pitches are made to make match interesting without keeping in mind of strengths and weakness of home or away team.
