I think 4 is the right age for a child to go to school. However, there are different play schools that can help your child prepare before going to a real school. I enrolled my daughter in one of the playschools near our place so that she won't get shocked when she starts going to a real school. Maybe you should try that first :)

I didnt start school until I was 5 or 6. (Cant remember exactly how old I was). Depending on where you live some schools may have age restrictions on when they can start in grade school. (Kidnergarden here in the USA) I think that it is depending on when their birthday is. I dont think pre-school has age restrictions although it is probably at least 4 years old. My mom didnt want to send us to pre-school though. Personally I think 5 or 6 is the proper age for children to start going to school. Also tv programs like Sesame Street helped me with learning so if you would like having your child watch programs like that can help them learn too.

if you are a working mom and the choice is between school and a babysitter, then i suggest that you take the child to school. however, if you stay at home then you can also teach your child these things. i think it would be better if you wait until the age of four when your child is more independent and does not need help in the toilet, table, etc...
