No Pay. No Way.

I like the concept of no pay no way in the tv ads to convince Filipinos to pay taxes. It's just hard to put into practice because most won't admit that they don not pay taxes (but the concept is good). Hope all the taxes will go to projects for the development of our country not to someone else's pocket.

That's true. I just hope that these people in the government would think of themselves less and put their priority on what the country and its people needs.

I'm sure most Filipinos have this idea that taxes goes to the pockets of some corrupt government officials and it is not their fault why this belief has been instilled in them for so long because there is no real proof that our taxes are utilized in a manner that's right and proper. However, this is not enough reason why some large tax payers should not pay the taxes that's due from them and later pay these corrupt examiners under the table when their companies are issued tax verification notice. I've know some and this is how it works so I guess we won't be moving forward with this kind of mentality.

yes, I agree that we won't be progressive when we always think that what we pay comes to someone else's pocket. I just hope though that it won't happen. I also believe that when we start giving trust to our leaders, we are welcoming progress. Thanks for sharing.

Filipinos must pray harder to hit the conscience of those corrupt politicians. It seems they all become greedy after winning from the election. i think they are always trying to get back those money they've spent from their run.

This one is certainly a nice motivation for all people to pay their due taxes. It has been said by my sister-in-law that in Australia their taxes are high but you can see them in roads that are super wide and sturdy. But then, i don't like our government to increase our taxes. They just have to put more taxes on the sin taxes.

I think in every product or service we pay - there's a tax involved. Go to a restaurant and there's a 12 percent VAT with a meal that is sometimes a smaller portion of what you can eat in a karinderia. Of course, there are people who are already excepted from tax because their wages/salaries are just enough for their families (those who are in the underground economy). Even utilities has taxes and utility companies are always trying to increase prices. If a person deliberately steals utilities for their good without paying and also dodges tax, that in my book, is a complete tax evader.

that's a good policy and I agree with you I hope it will fall on to the citizens and not to their pockets, shame on them for asking so much taxes such as vat but there's no even good evidence of improvement of our country's system
