Hello friends ;
I have come to know that doing transcription work is a good online earning method. But whenever i have gone through the searching process , i have found that it requires certain skill sets . Some sites promises work only after completion of a few tutorials.
Can any of my myLotian friend suggest me a good transcription site where it is easy to do work even for a beginner.
It would be nice if anyone can offer some detailed information about the transcription work and its earning potential.
Thanks in advance and have a nice day!!!

Yes you can earn from this kind of activity online. Medical transcription might require training but those transcription job available on the site I will provide herewith does not require this thing. So you can use this site as a starting point. The clients of this site are those shows which need subtitles so you will be given an short audio which you have to transcribe.
You have to pass the examination before you could start. But if ever you did not pass on the first try, you can try again until you pass the exam. The site is transcribMe.
Have a wonderful day!

Definitely check out TranscribeMe, I also work there and it is an amazing site for beginners.
You do have to past a test but it is incredibly easy and you can do it however many times you want.
I work there and have gotten paid out three times now to my Paypal account, so they are legit.

Thank you for this information. I've been training as a transcriptionist but I'm rather overwhelmed by the many competitors online. Many of them are very skilled already and I'm afraid I am not good enough.

Hi there! Have you tried Skillpages.com? You can post your qualifications there and employers can search you. I was recommended a transcription here before but I declined because I was not familiar with the terms. They were mentioning about words per minute, turnout and rate per hour. Basically, you should have:
1. Normal hearing acuity;
2. Excellent listening, typing, grammar, memory and communication skills;
3. Wide familiarity or knowledge to topics;
4. High accuracy and attention to detail; and
5. Transcription certification (mostly for medical transcriptionist)
Those are just the basics. You can also try to look for a software to aid you in transcribing. Good luck Moondebi! :)

If you are looking for audio transcription jobs, they pay you around $1 for 5 minutes of audio transcription. I use a playback mechanism (play a part of audio several times) you can do this with any video editing software. Currently I have 680 transcriptions from a client and having a hard time. Each is at least 5 minutes and usually audio transcription client targets developing countries like India.
In case they target USA, $1 is very less for them when compared with people living in India were $1 has a value.
