What is the best way to monetize your blog? / myLot

I have an Adsense account which is connected to my blog, and it has started to earn. I want to know if there is another more good option to monetize my blog. I write on numbers of topics in my blog, which is mainly dedicated to Civil Engineering, and other topics like health, astrology and earning money. What topics do you suggest to write on the blog? and please try to answer my first question too.

Find a good niche, then put a good tags on it, put as many as you can, cos with "tags" your site will be easily to get find, plus do some backlinks, it also helps you to enhance your website to get views by other people,

I need more light on the niche part. How and where to find a niche, and how to put the tags in there? I think the back links can be put by commenting on the posts by other bloggers online, correct me if you mean some thing else.
