I am leaving in late May with my son and my daughter. He will become 6 years old just three days before our trip. My daughter will become 4 years old in June. It is excellent that kids under 4 can be free on trains in Europe. I am paying for her on the train ride from Poland to the Ukraine so we can have a triple compartment.
On Day one we will travel from Somerset in England to Koln in Germany. That night we will sleeping on a night train to Prague in the Czech Republic. On day two we will have a days sightseeing in Prague. It is a city I have been to before. Then that evening will will take the overnight train to Krakow in Poland. On day three will be sightseeing in Krakow. It is also a city I have been to before. That evening we will take the train to the Ukraine. That will be a totally new destination for me.
We arrive at 06.03 in the Ukraine so we won't be able to check in the accommodation there for hours. It is a similar story in all the other destinations apart from Odessa. That is why I wish to travel lightly luggage wise. Maybe it will be one bag per person. I know Ukraine customs only let in 50 Euros of food in so we will place food in each person's bag. We have a vegan diet so we do need to bring some food.
Would you like to travel overnight on a day then sight see the next day?
Can you achieve traveling lightly luggage wise?
Did you ever have a very early arrival?

Hi Maxine,
Whenever I can, I try to travel during the night so that I don`t spend a day inside a plane. Fortunatly I have never had jet lag, so I can go to the hotel, leave my suitcase and start my sightseeing. I always travel light, specially now that I`m not that young. I only carry one suitcase because I need a free hand just in case.

Hi Marguicha. I am delighted that you never suffer from jet lag. Good luck on your flight up from Chile to Mexico. I think one suitcase on wheels suits you well. That special needs buggy was great for traveling in 2012. On this trip Leo will be in his usual wheelchair.

I enjoyed reading about the trip you have planned. It sounds really interesting. I still haven't decided if we are going to travel by train we visit Ukraine and Moldova. I would prefer to travel by train, but flying is faster and if we don't have much free time we might have to choose the fastest option.
I sometimes travel overnight and I would do that again in the future especially if I am able to travel by train because the overnight busses are usually less comfortable than the overnight trains. I always try to travel light. I usually bring some washing powder instead of bring a lot of clothes. I bring some things that I am able to throw away during the trip like magazines and cheap paperbacks. That way there is room for souvenirs and gifts in my backpack.
When we arrived in Thailand it was very early in the morning (6 a.m. or 7 a.m.) and we knew that we wouldn't be able to check into the hotel when we arrived, but we didn't really mind, we were just very happy that had arrived in Asia. We had brunch at the airport and then we walked around for while.

I can see that it was very early when you arrived in Thailand. You did well to walk around and be happy that you had arrived in Asia. It is worse to arrive in the early hours of 1am to 3am. Then to have to sit up in the airport for the rest of the night.
I think that you might fly to the Ukraine or Moldova. I will be bringing along some travel washing liquid and an electric washing line. Magazines and cheap paperback books are a good idea. I always like to get souvenirs.

Wow, that is a very interesting itineries. I have been to Prague
and I love the city very much. So much beautiful scenery to see and
wonderful things to buy. Thinking of visiting Prague again soon. Could
you kindly tell interesting sights of Krakow, I have not been there.
Yes, I have taken night flights before and arrived at destination for
day travel the next day. Exciting but tired since I normally do not
sleep very well in the aeroplane.

It is fantastic that you have been to Prague and you really enjoyed it there. In Krakow they have a quaint looking city square with a hall in the middle full of souvenirs. It has a gorgeous looking castle. I liked going on a walking trip seeing the sights of Schindler's List. I am keen on seeing attractive looking architecture. Yes, it is hard to sleep well on a plane in the night.

Dear:
One of the most effective ways to avoid scammer is to find a third party a buyingagent in China to do every work for you ,Usually the Chinese buyingagent will find different suppliers for you to choose the most competitive one both in price and quality ,And act for you the quality control service in China and following up orders ina China for you,In most condition,it saves you a lot of work and risk,The cost for the agent is not high, ususlly only 3%,some experienced sourcing agent such as sino Biz(China)Business Service CO.,LTD,(3W dot China-buyingagent dot com)would be very helpful in sourcing in china.

I would probably travel light going, but when I come back, would have a lot of things. I never had an early arrival anywhere. We would leave early and no matter how far we went, it would be around supper time and when we went back home, my husband would drive the car fast enough so I would have to prepare supper when we got home, but I caught on and soon had food prepared in the freezer so I could defrost it in the microwave.

Except I think my husband did not have to rush so much. It was as if he was trying to avoid stopping at the cafeterias. And since the vacations were usually one or two weeks, it happened that the first place we stopped at was at Safeway so we could pick something up and I had to cook it. Oh and I had to prepare the supper.

I'm so excited for you and your family. I'm sure that you all will have a great time. Yeah I think it would be nice to travel overnight and then see the area the next day. I think for me it would be hard to travel light. I can't wait to hear about your families experience from Eastern Europe.

Hello Dominique. Thanks for the lovely things which you have written to me. I will write a packing list and try very hard to travel light. Going to Canada in 2010 I could hardly carry all the luggage. Yes, I will say all about my families trip when I get back home.

Hi,maximax8! It's so interesting of your trip. I hope one day I can have mine, there are so many countries I want to visit, but till now, I have only traveled several times in my country. My dream is to travel around the world, I wish I can achieve it as soon as possible. I also don't like to carry any luggage with me. And I would like to choose evening trains and daytime planes, so that I can have a sleep on train and some rest on plane to enjoy my mettlesome sight-seeing!

At least for you, you could easily travel. For me now life is so hard. But anyways, If I travel overnight on the next day I think I should rest first, if time allows me to do so. Cause for me, If I sight see on the next day already it would be so tiring and stressful and I might not be able to enjoy the view. Might as well rest first then sight seeing after. Happy trip my friend. Enjoy!

I love what you're doing - you seem to be always on the go, you're always travelling. And it's good to know that you could travel with your children, the best! I would like the idea of travelling overnight and just enjoy seeing a new place the following day. I am used to travelling light because I always want to buy a promotional plane ticket - travel light, and whenever my schedule would allow, I would always choose a very early arrival.

That seems to be like a very interesting trip.
I would like to travel overnight on a day, then sight see the next day.
I think I might be able to achieve traveling lightly luggage wise.
I've never had a very early arrival simply because I haven't traveled that much yet.
If anything, I'd prefer to travel on foot, hitch-hike than use a particular type of route recommended by a firm. That way I can choose where I will go and what I'll visit. If anything I'd really like to travel to hot spot places, rather than safe places, since it seems to be very exciting even if very dangerous to health.

This sounds like a Very fun trip. In July my husband and I are planning a trip to Minneapolis, MN by Amtrak, and we are supposed to arrive around 7 a.m. So we are trying to decide what plans we need to make for when, as to car rental, hotel, etc. But we are going to see some friends, and then they will probably be in our area late August. But this is going to be an awesome time.

Wow, it is going so fast my friend, soon you will be counting down the days! I hope the weather improves for you, it has been a classic tale of April showers here. I don't mind travelling at night if it's by plane, but not by train because you can't see outside and it can be very boring. I find it difficult to travel light especially if you don't know what the weather is going to be like. I had a very early arrival in the West country when we had to be off the sleeper train at 8.30 in the morning, I was shattered.

The first time we went to Europe, well, the trip I took with my folks and sibs, we were too early to check into the hotel, but they let us drop off our bags. I have trouble sleeping at the best of times, and only dozed on the plane. We took a bus tour around London while we waited for the hotel to be ready to let us check in. My sister slept, I swear that girl can sleep anywhere!

I bet you are gettign excited thinking about your trip especially as it is not long now!
I have a couple of weeks booked off work at the end of April/beginning of May but, due to money etc, I am not going away and I am a bit gutted about it to be honest!
I have things planned for a few of the days to enjoy (as logn as the weather is decent!) so it should still be nice to be off!
I hope you enjoy your trip and you will probably have many stories to tell when you come back!

Hello Frankie. Yes, I am getting very excited about my trip to Eastern Europe. I wish travel was cheaper like you could get a last minute weeks holiday for 150 pounds. I hope the weather is hot and so you can enjoy time outdoors in late April to early May. Yes, I will come home with many happy stories I hope.

We left early and no matter how much we were going, it would be at dinner and when we got home, my husband would drive the car fast enough, so I have to prepare dinner when we arrived at the house, but I began to and soon had prepared meals in the freezer that I can thaw in the microwave

i admire your travelling, you know, i completely want to travel to Europe.that's my dream.but it hasn't come true till now.i want to see the eiffer Tower in Paris, the big ben in London, the small town of Italy.i also want to see the snow on the Alpine in Swiss, the aegean sea in Greece.Although i see them many times on travelling websites or Tv pograms, i urgently want to travel these places for myself.with a light luggage (certainly enough money),a closest partner accompanying me,i can travel without a rest.oh,is it just a dream?

Hopefully it is not just a dream and it will become reality in the future some time. I hope that you will at that time be able to find a cheap flight to Europe. You could travel around on a months rail pass. You could take a flight to London then a budget flight to Greece. Then you could travel back to London on your rail pass. Good luck making your dream a reality in the future.
