I have a friend who seeks attention and is a drama queen. I feel that it is immature, and I don't give her attention because of this. Here are just a few things see did to get attention:
Told everybody she was going to join the air force
Told everybody she was going to move to another country
Posted pictures of her son in the hospital but never said what happened
Always ignores everybody when people do give her attention
I'm fed up with it. What would you do? Ignore it? Say something? Stop being friends with the person?

People who are drama queens or always wanting attention could never be my friend. I can't associate with people who act this way. They are inmature and lack something that they didn't get when growing up. I stay far away from people like this. If I was to become a friend without knowing this person was like that then overtime I would definitely stop being friendly with this person. It takes up to much energy to deal with people like this and I rather use my energy on more important things in my life.

I understand. I am still her friend but at times I think she is really immature. I try to stay away from any of the drama. We don't talk that often, and we stay as friends but I don't stay close with her for these reasons you are talking about. You are right that it takes a lot of energy dealing with people like this. We started to get close at one point and I felt like I had a lot more stress, less energy, and felt exhausted. Now we are not that close and we just stay friends that are not that close.

A friend is always a friend, even when she has a bad attitude she's still your friend. Maybe you can find out why she's being like that so that you could understand. All of us have negative attitude and we can be better through other people's concerns and advices such as a true friend that will understand what we feel and who we are.
