When you go online, do you always end up doing what you planned?

Hey there peeps,
I'm just wondering, when you go online, do you do the things you planned on doing or do you end up just mucking around, playing games and getting caught up on social media? I used to get distracted by other things, like Facebook and Bejeweled Blitz, and I never used to get any important stuff done, like coming in here and posting here as well as doing other activities that have the potential to earn money.
What I've done recently is I have refused to log onto Facebook on my laptop and only access it through my iPad. So that I don't play Bejeweled, I keep my iPad away. It was really hard at first and it's been difficult not to replace them with frivolous activities online. I'm trying my utmost to concentrate my energies on that but, far out, it can be hard at times.
How do you stay on track when you are online?
Thanks n have a great day!

Hi there Mortysmadhouse!
I always do what I am planning to do when I am online although I don't do "just" what I plan to do. Usually, I have multiple tabs open like now. I am making my sister's wedding invitation but at the same time, I also have Mylot, a movie pop quiz application and Facebook open aside from Photoshop. I just switch tabs.

That's great! I still have multiple tabs open now but it's just for Mylot and a browser-based game that I am playing.

Hi Nanayangel!
Even with lots of tabs open, I still found I got sidetracked. Not any more though. I have several tabs open at the moment, none of them with social media ;) Thanks for your response =D

hi there,
with reference to your topic, i do make it sure that i always end up what i have planned since being online is one of my way to earn. and i can't afford to loose any single cent having an earning here. so, i always do my postings here religiously. but, doing such thing does not make me to be excuse on signing in to my social networking accounts, hence, thru this way, i communicate with my other friends. perhaps, its like a time balance management so i can do both. and i believed you can also do at your end.
cheers!

That's fantastic to hear that you are able to focus on earning rather than all that other things that can be done on the computer. I'm starting to get a bit better everyday - games and facebook etc are for the iPad only, and I'm keeping that away from me, in the next room ;)
Thanks for your response :)

Hi! Yeah, sometimes what I'm really planning to do is to read or watch tutorials and improve my knowledge especially computer related matters like web design and photo and video editing but ended up spending time on games and other money making sites even though I only earn little from them. But sometimes the opportunity to earn online even for a small amount is being a reason to postpone doing more important matters. Well, good for you that you can now control yourself. Good day and happy myLotting!

There's so much to do online and so many different websites to visit that I hardly ever get anything important done. Either I will get hung up on my unimportant emails or wind up on facebook or one of the gaming sites for hours. Before I know it hours have passed and I didn't get to do half of what I planned to do. Still trying to find the remedy for that. It would probably be easier if I didn't enjoy gaming so much.

Sometimes. =) I forgot about them when I started browsing. But when I remember it, I open a new tab and do multi-tasking. Sometimes I don't finish what I need to do and cram when I need it already. Pretty much, I manage everything when I am on the right track of my conscience. haha!

I know how that is. I sometimes get distracted by looking things up on the internet. What I do is in the morning, I log in and get a few sites done. Then I wind up going off in a different direction. It does not happen all the time, but when it does, I notice that lots of time has passed. I go online with the intent of getting all my sites done early so that I have the rest of the day to do some other things. But it never seems to happen that way.

Eventually yes, but it usually takes longer than I planned to. There's just too many distractions, you are so right. However, facebook isn't one of them. I have no face.

It's all too easy to get side tracked onto something that takes you away from what you originally intende to do.
But, hopefully, you get the intended task done in the end.
