Every passing day is bringing restlessness in the world. May it be political or financial. The world economy and peace is in danger. There are various factors which are contributing towards this restlessness, like declining economy, terrorism, inflation etc etc. In this discussion, I want all of you to share your views to bring out the causes which have contributed towards elimination of world peace along with their solution. In this discussion, a daily topic will be posted on which your valuable comments will be required. Lets start a healthy discussion.

I don't think it's possible to achieve world peace. Basically because there are so many people with different ideologies and their own concept of peace. If anything I think we should reach peace among ourselves, that is your friends, family, basically close people of yours. If that is achieved we can live in a happy world, even if world itself is gray and grim. There's just no way to achieve world peace and I believe there always will be some kind of conflicts around the world. If anything there's Somali conflict and the news aren't talking about it.

I am inclined to agree. People have different ideologies and interpretation of their ideologies. we can't simply agree with the r outright tell them that their views are wrong. unless of course, the majority of the world thinks it is wrong for many pertinent reasons.

I believe that every person understands justice differently.
Say for some people justice is killing a mass murderer, while for others it is life imprisonment. Also, if everyone would do something that is justice, then we'd have even more wars. Say, most of terrorists usually follow Islam, or rather a very twisted version of it, where they didn't even read the Koran. So, because most of the terrorists are people that are into Islam, it would be justifiable to deport all the people that are into Islam from the countries, whose people were attacked by terrorist acts. Therefore, even if justice is the same, there still would be conflicts around the world because people would think that unfair, that fair and so on.

I would disagree with "invisibledeath". You are right that people have their own ideologies and there are diverse schools of thought. But in my opinion, there is one thing, which is common in all and that is JUSTICE. if you give justice in your society, then no matter which religion you follow, which school of thought you belong to, peace will prevail. What do you say?

Let's start at home.
Tell you parents that you love them. Give a good pat on the back to your elder brother who has done a good job. Say thank you to someone who has made your life easier.
Then apply it at work.
Tell your boss how much you have learned a lot from him. Ask a co-worker for a coffee break together. Pay the bills. Tell the customer how good he looks with her glasses.
Share it with the people you don't know.
Give a smile to a stranger. Offer your seat to an elderly. Give a homeless man some bread.
The little good things we do can start world peace restoration.

No one person can bring about world peace on a planet in which there are millions of people. You can go on thinking about world peace, but there is nothing you can do about it.
In my opinion, the best thing you can do is just forget about world peace. Forget about all the nonsense which is happening in the world. You can certainly bring peace to your own life and when you are totally peaceful, you will be spreading peace vibrations to the people whom you come across.

At this perilous time, world peace is very hard to achieve. People have different views and ideology and attitude. Good things to other might be bad to other groups. World peace is impossible unless there were no humans at all.

we want peace.so let us start with ourselves.all of us together makes the world. we dont have to search for peace because peace is within us, we r peace.experience peace just by closing eyes.if u want peace ,look for peacefull activities around u.participate in peacefull activties more, like learn meditaton rater than attending party which makes u restless next day.know that whatever we pay attention to grows.if u pay attention to unrest, unrest will grow.i hope this is a healthy discussion to start with.there r many more aspects to it which we will discuss at length.good day.

Very rightly said. Everything starts from a unit. Even the rain starts from the first tiny drop. But do you think that in today's environment changing oneself can bring any change? As today the environment is such that you can not influence others, moreover, others do not pay any heat to whatever you are doing. Do you think that only by setting personal example, one can change the whole scenario?

May be the first step is to prevent further production of WMD like nuclear and atomic weapons in all nations, then demand all countries to reduce their present stockpile on weapons of war, and limit their annual expenditure on arms race and military buildup. It may sound easy in paper but in reality it is extremely difficult to enact such resolution on all nations. In short, trying to restore world peace may not be a realistic goal at all, since leaders from many large countries can't even stop thinking of attacking another nation to exert their control over the weaker and smaller country. They can't even prevent war with talking and negotiating, how is that possible to restore world peace while they continue to spend exponentially on building more weapons of war?? It is just not going to happen with present world leaderships.

If we want world peace, we must first begin with ourselves. We're all a part of the world, just like a drop is a part of the ocean. We need not search for peace because peace is within each of us, so we must try to find the way to experience this inner peace for ourselves & contemplate upon it each day as often as time allows. We spend too much of our time paying attention to that which shows the universe that we don't want peace, but something else; so that's what we get. That which we have sown, we now harvest. We planted apple seeds, we nurtured them & now we're picking fruit - apples!
World peace may not be realised in our lifetimes, but it is something that we can all aspire to. Every effort towards this ideal does make a difference. A lasting difference, so long as we persevere. Like energies do attract & so some parts of the world will seem more peaceful than others at any one time. And we might, we just might, make some sort of lasting peace of sorts, should it be the will of most of the people on this earth.

Hi ! Before aspiring for world peace let us first make peace with our own self , with our own soul . It is so impossible to fix outside world when your own family is so messy. Let us make peace with our family , so we can bring and share peace outside . Peace can be achieved if all of us are just sincere to each other , and if respect would always be there ! I remember a line in the movie Troy which says that 'even enemies gives respect to each other ".

I agree the peace starts within, we all can only control our own actions. We have to be each individually strong enough to promote peace, to live with no violence. Basically that means we all would have more self control over our emotions and actions and this is not to be expected. Lets all promise to bring world peace from the inside out!
