What is wrong with people nowadays?

This terrorism has never really left this world yet. The bombing at the Boston Marathon, then an attempted atack on our senator Roger Wicker, all in one week. There is definitely a spiritual battle and it's sad that people can be so evil to try this mess again! The attempted attack on the senator brought back memories of the 2001 anthrax attacks, and the tragedy in Boston reminded of the 1996 Olympics bombing because it happened during an outside sports event. My heart goes out to those families.

Well, as you mentioned, there have always been nutjobs who think terrorism is the best way for them to get their political/social message across. It's nothing new, but it may seem like that because of advances in technology and social media. A bomb goes off and within minutes, it's all over Twitter and Facebook, and thousands of people worldwide are talking about it.
While it's good that we're able to communicate so instantly now and get messages out there to large masses of people, it's also kind of a bad thing because it presents an even greater 'stage' for terrorists and anyone else who wants to send some kind of message via violence or public shock. School shooters want to go out in a blaze of glory, and now they know if they shoot up a school, the whole world will be talking about it. Or terrorists who want to bomb something to send a message, now know that the more people they kill and the more extreme or bizarre their acts are, the faster the news will spread and the more people will talk about them.
It's a messed up way of thinking, but some people are messed up.
