Do you worry more about what has already happened? I find myself sometimes dwelling on stupid things that I have said or done from not only yesterday but from 10+ years ago. The present? The day to day stuff can be dawnting but I don't think I am too concerned about it. And the future...? I am always wondering about the rest of my life and all the what ifs. It is hard to worry about because I don't feel like I have a ton of control over the future. I wish I could focus more on the present and make more goals for the future. I will have to say most of my time is spent worrying about the past and not being able to change it. Oh well, maybe I can just learn from my past mistakes and be a better me in the future.

I actually focus on the future as well, But I realize that the present, right here and right now, Is more important of two. If you do not make wise choices and take care of your self, You will have no future.
Happy mylotting!

When I think of the future it is usually the short term future. Thinking about 10, 20 years from now is difficult. What is it is nothing like I expect? I can't imagine my kids being grown and not needing me all the time. I imagine I will have a really hard time when my babies leave the nest.

Well this is my problem too yesterday. I keep on dwelling on my past times. I have to forget about it and focus on the now and the future. I can't forgive myself and I can't seem to forget the wrong things people have done to me. That is pretty much a waste of time since there is nothing absolutely we can do about the past. Though my past is connected with my present and eventually my future, there is little I can do to change all the mistakes and failures. What is important is today because it will affect the future and it will be our past. So, I need to learn how to stop looking on my past.

Letting go and forgetting the past errors is way easier said than done. I know its the right thing to do but I still find myself annoyed by the stupid things I've done, both big and small. Usually the big stuff I say I will learn from. Its the small things that I can't seem to block out of my mind.

Yes, sometimes I start thinking about the past, although I know very well that one should be in the present moment. After all, the present is the reality. The past has already happened and there is nothing we can do to change it. However, living totally in the present is very difficult.
Future is better than past because planning for the future is much more beneficial than brooding about the past.

I do not worry about the past. It is water under the bridge. What can you do? You have to accept it. As far as the present, you are living the present now and can still change things but you do not want to. And so you look to the future. And the future arrives to be the present and you do not do anything about it either. My mother always told me not to put off tomorrow what you can put off today.

What concern me is the future for I am sure I am no longer who am I when that times come my health maybe deteriorated and my agility is no longer active as I am today but what concern me most is my financial stability for my old age to be secured.

It seems like you described me in a nutshell, if worrying was a profession I would be a high ranking executive making a six figure salary. I worry about what I did, what I could have did better, and hoe the future will turnout. I often find myself beating myself up because of my worrying and that when I knew I had to change. I had to tell myself that things happen for a reason and what I've Bern through is a lesson that I will have to carry with me for the rest of my life. After reflecting back to my worrying days I now think it did nd no goof, I spent too much time worrying about what I did wrong and not trying to fix the problem. In conclusion, I will say the past is the past and it is better left in the past, I would just learn from my mistakes and make better decisions I the future.

I am always concern about the three, my past, my present and of course, my future. But I am most concern about the future so to be able to have a good one, I always see to it that I do not keep myself trapped in my past and make the most out of my present life.

Well for me, Past for me is the thing that would remind me of the mistakes that I have done in order for me not to do it again at the present and for the upcoming future. While in the present time for me, is also valuable because that is the time that you should do things in the right way atleast. Then, future is somehow a plan for me to do things or on how to do things rather. Each of the three for me is special. Teaches me a lesson on their own unique way.

Don't worry max.. you are not alone... even me I can't help it to think of my future...I think it's normal to those matured people to think to much about to happen and taken for granted the present situation..Sometimes thinking and worrying so much about future caused us stress and something affects us to think logically..
I think life is like that because we want a secured and best future ahead of us...

Present will distinguished your past yet it's the stepping stone to choose a path in the future whether it's for our betterment or for the worse.Every stage in our life has it's own importance. In my case, I can't really identify which one is more important since they are all interrelated.

That's the right spirit. The past is our reference, the present is what we should live the best we can, the future is where we are heading. In general we want our future to be better than our present, and our present is better than our past. Our main concern should thus be the present because the past is history and the future is yet to come :)

That's annoying about the past, it keeps on haunting you. Because most of our pasts are made of mistakes, embarrassing moments and failures in life. I have some share of past experiences that I fully regret and wish to turn back time to make corrections. I wish I could overcome that feeling and move one as easily as I can. It still bothers me until now, especially at idle moments and during watching movies that I can relate to.
But now that I've become a mother, I am mostly concerned of preparing for tomorrow. From house chores, meals, my child's education, and even the "doom's day". I don't know but I am so affected by those documentaries and movies about the world's end. Perhaps because I am a new mom and I want to have longer time with my children, see how they grow and witness their success and help them with their failures.
I think the only time I live in the present is when I'm having fun. Like laughing very hard, taking a swim, having a road trip and even just lying down with my husband and daughter. I wish I could like the present more than being haunted with the past and stressed about preparing in the future.
Thanks for the discussion Maxfashioned! ;)

This is so me. I too dwell too much in the past, in-spite of knowing it's not going to change a thing of what has already happened. It's exhausting. I want to concentrate more on the present but most of the time, I find myself thinking about the past or making future plans.
I realize that I must put more time and energy into the present, into whatever i'm doing. Only that is going to give results and also, in a way, affect my future.
As it is said that there is no use crying over spilt milk because what is done is done, leave it alone. So, I am learning to let go off my past mistakes and only taking the lessons I've learnt with me.

For me, concerning about future is the most important thing to do. We all have our own past, we also on our present right now. But no matter what was our past time, remember that we now live our present which give us a chance to make an option for our future. If we made mistake on our past and it make us regret, so optimize this present time to create a better future. Don't be sad for past time because of that past we now have our present. More sad past time should create a stronger of you. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I sometimes think of my past, but I don't think I'm concerned with it anymore, unlike how I am concerned with the future or tomorrow maybe, would I be successful with my chosen career? Would I be great? Would I be able to do that and these in time? Would I make all my dreams come true? I always wish. I always hope. But I'm living with the present and I take this time to cherish every moment and every decision I make, I don't feel like regretting it but its life, my past is in my past, and I live in the present, so those people judge me by my past, its their problem, not mine. =) I am concerned with my past, present and future, all differently. =)
