As I said before I had SO much fun today but I got SO burnt! I used 70 SPF sunblock and I still burned pretty bad. I am hurting so bad from it. I cannot believe after putting it on 4 times I still got sun burn! Does anyone else burn as easily as me? I know I am fair skinned but geez, I am hurting so bad right now and I know tomorrow it will hurt even worse. =(
Oh well, still had an awesome day even with the burn! Lol.

Yeah, I got badly burnt too. But today I am feeling better because my husband put on colloidal silver paste. It took the sting out and made me feel so much better. =)

I deliberately stay out of the sun for the very same reasons, when I burn I go bright pink, blister and peel, and I itch like crazy, doesn't matter what sunblock I put on, even going out, without actually laying in the sun, I have to cover up. Then after all that I go white again, I have never gone brown. I am also heat sensitive too, so I dread the Summer months, if I had enough money I would escape our Summers for a colder climate. Mind you the good thing about staying out of the sun, I am less likely to get skin cancer. I had a very bad experience one Summer when I was a child I got badly burnt on holiday, it was so bad I couldn't even walk, the back of my legs were burnt as was my back, I was in agony, I wasn't going to forget that holiday in a hurry, but it taught me a stiff lesson, about the sun and getting burnt!

Yeah I put so much sun block on so I wouldn't burn and it happened anyway! =( The heat is not my favorite either unless I am doing something fun like being on the boat. =) I don't like tanning or laying out in the sun, that is boring and I burn so bad doing that! But on the boat I admit I was having fun so I wasn't thinking about putting it on every hour... I put more on every couple hours which was my mistake!

Did you use a waterproof, or water resistant sunblock? I got severe sun poisoning so badly as a teen, it kept me out on the sun for YEARS! I was on my senior class trip, and I couldn't attend the luau! :( I grew up going to the Jersey shore, but the sun in Florida was WAY more intense!

Try wearing a cover up-or at least a wide-brimmed hat. You're young-you don't want to look old before your time due to skin damage! My MIL used to spend a lot of time outdoors, but I don't think she ever wore sunscreen! She was five years older than my mom, but looked twenty!

I definitely don't want to look older than I am. I don't usually spend a lot of time outside which is also why I probably burn so bad when I am outside...

Yeah it was waterproof but I never even got wet, the water was too cold to get wet. I am so tired of getting burned every year like this no matter how much sun block I use!
Ouch, sun poisoning really hurts. I only had that happen one time in my life, thank God! Right now I am burned but not like that.
I hope this will be the only time this year that I get this way. Hopefully I will just get tan from now on this year...

I have sensitive skin as well and cannot stand the heat for long.
So, I cannot stay under the sun either.
The heat alone and sweating gives me prickly heat and rashes all over my body.
That is one reason why I don't like summer- I am red all over

Ouch imagine if you did not put sunblock? Try putting some aloe vera cream or natural aloe vera wil will be much better i think. And maybe next time try not to expose your skin too much. Here in asia i think most of the woman go gaga when the sun starts to appear..ahaha im not saying its good though.
Hope it will get better soon try not to touch it as much as you can.

I know! I would have gotten sun poisoning if I did not use sun block, I know that for sure. That sun was super hot!
I will try the aloe vera. I have to get some.
Yeah thank you. =)

The 70 SPF means that if you normally burn in 10 minutes without sunscreen, the 70 will protect you for 70 minutes. Also, you need to apply it half an hour before being exposed to the sun. Aloe vera gel is good for taking the heat out of burns.

I seriously did not know that! I wish I knew this before I got burnt. Well, at least I know now what it means... Lol. Wonder why no one told me that before now. Ugh.
I didn't have any aloe in the house but my husband put on colloidal silver paste and man that helped so much! It took the sting and burn out so much that I can actually walk today without limping.

If it's your first time in the sun for the season, you'll get burnt more than ever because your skin is not used to it. That's the time you really need to put on a T-shirt (or whatever) to be on the safe side because you will burn regardless what sunscreen you have on.
They say vinegar helps to cool it off. Do some research online and see what helps other than that if you'd like.

Yes it was my first time in the sun this year. I should have worn pants and a t-shirt but it was so hot and I didn't want to be sweating even more and so uncomfortable! I am a stubborn one I know. Lol.
My husband put on a colloidal silver paste which took the burn out enough to let me sleep last night which I was SO excited about! And today I am not limping anymore. I feel a lot better than I did! =)

I`m so glad that you had fun, but no fun is worth a terrible sunburn. That is vey dangerous. I think that, if your skin is so delicate, you should ask a doctor to tell you what to do and what not to do.Sometimes a sunblock is not enough.

I know its extremely dangerous. I did everything I could not to burn, I definitely don't like hurting and I don't want to put my health at risk either. Sadly, no matter what sun block I use I still burn. 70 SPF is really strong and I still burnt! I cannot afford insurance so I have not been to a doctor since my last pregnancy. Don't have the money for it, so I don't know how to stop burning like this every summer! =(

I know what my brother does, and he is very light and needs to do somne field work. He starts by taking 10 min sunbaths with sun blocks for maybe a week and then stay longer and longer. Besides he wears long sleeves if he has to stay a long time in the sun.

Thanks for this discussion, so you got it during boating, is your place hot and too sunny, here we are having beginning of summer, temp is 43 C now, soon it will shoot to 53, we are accustomed to hot weather.
If you come here you will feel like roasted.

It was pretty hot here during the day. I was sweating when the boat stopped. I am sure I would feel extremely hot where you live! I would not be able to handle it.

Sorry to hear that you got so burnt. It sounds very painful. Glad to hear that you had fun though. That is crazy that you put it on that much and still were burnt really bad.

Eat way more tomatoes or tomato paste! They did tests with it with people who get very easily a sunburn. It was reduces by over 30%. So worth trying it or? You have to start with it about 3-4 weeks before sunbathing. BTW I also have the experiences (with my childeren) that not every high sunblock works at all. So keep your shirt on as well. BTW my granny always had a terrible sunburn (incl. big wounds) even she was using it and just sitting in the shade.

Wow I did not know that! Thanks wakeupkitty. I will definitely try that. =) I never heard of it before to help with not burning so much... I am willing to try anything at this point. I thought the higher SPF's would work but I am not so sure on that anymore either...

I guess since it was the first time really being in the sun this year that is why I got so burnt like I did.
My husband treated it last night with a silver paste and it has helped a lot. =)

I have used aloe vera, and I have used vinegar. Both help. I have heard of crushing aspirin and soaking cloths in it to apply, and I have heard of soaking a rag in milk to do apply to remove the pain. I just read recently that if you rub the sunscreen in it lessens the effectiveness, so that is maybe a reason you burned so badly. I hope you get to doing better.

The kids didn't go out with us yesterday, they were with my parents. Next time we go out the kids will come too. My sister's dogs went on the boat, so it would have been too much with the kids too.
My kids would not have burned if they were there. They are like my husband, darker skinned and they tan instead of burning.

Hi ! Never mind those burns , the important thing is you enjoyed your outdoor activities. Don't your skin will be back to its original color. Burning a temporary one anyways you still look so beautiful. Personally i am afraid to place on sunblock because i have bad experienced about it . Once i place sunblock because i am out then following day some spots in my face already. I don't know maybe that sunblock is in bad quality. Now i am not placing nay sunblock because of that trauma.

It seems bizarre t.o read about sunburn and sun cream, when we have barely reached double figures here in the uk.
I suggest a nice cool bath or shower, that should ease the pain a little. Don't forget to drink plenty of water - we forget how sunburn dehydrates us.
Nonetheless, nice to hear you had a nice day

Yeah, I am sure it does sound weird to you. Lol. It was close to 90 degrees here yesterday so I got burnt so bad! That sun was so hot!
I will try a cool bath and I will be drinking plenty of fluids.
Thanks rob! =)
