Since I had my first postpaid plan, I always see to it that I remember when the holding period of my units will be. So far, I had received three cellular phones, a broadband kit and a pocket wifi eversince. I just renewed my postpaid plan subscription last month so I got a new smartphone and a pocket wifi.
When my colleagues saw them, they thought that I bought those items. And when I told them that I got them for free or as a loyalty perks, they were actually shocked to know it since they are all subscribed to a postpaid plan for like five years or more but they are not aware that they can actually get a new phone or a broadband kit after a certain period of time (holding period which is usually 24 months or 2 years).
I just wonder why since the company would usually tell this thing when you open your account and will inform you like they send you an SMS or include this message in your monthly statement of account. How about you are you also aware of it?

Yes like I said we can always choose what works for us. It is what I like about having a postpaid plan, yes you pay an amount monthly for your calls and SMS and you get a phone for free. Well, you don't have to pay that amount all your life. Like I said, there's this holding period which is usually 24 months. After that, you have the option to discontinue it but you can have the phone with you. If you choose to continue it, then you can get a new phone for free again.

No, I am not using postpaid plans because I use to use this prepaid plans ever. E loading stations are just everywhere so it is not my problem when my load is zero. I guess I can save more if I will use prepaid plans rather then the postpaid because I heard from one of my friends that sometimes there are hidden charges in post paid.

I see, I always think that it really depends on our lifestyle and what really works for us. I used to be a prepaid subscriber since 2001 but decided to subscribe for a postpaid plan because upon checking, I can actually save by it. I used to load 300 monthly, but learned that if I am going to open an account for just P350 monthly, bundle it with my existing broadband subscription which I pay P799 monthly, I will be able to save P150 pesos. I only need to pay P999 for the two subscriptions. Before, I was really in need of an unlimited call service which I got from subscribing to it. But just last month, I changed my postpaid plan profile since I don't make so much calls lately.

It is nice to know that you are very much aware of it. We should really pay attention to this. I hope you'll enjoy your new phone.
