A Sure Sign That Spring Is In The Air

My big fluffy cat Shakti, is shedding clumps of fluffy orange and white fur. LOL He sheds some when I pet him, but when I play with him now, great CLOUDS of hair are flying through the air, and landing on our navy blue duvet cover. OK that thing's not navy blue anymore. haha Big clump of it just landed on my husband's pillow, and when the cat shakes himself out, it stirs up a cyclone of orange and white fluff. I almost wish I had a spinning wheel. I could gather the clumps, spin them into yarn, and knit something. LOL
Does this mean that the super-hot weather is finally on its way?

My dogs seem to shed heavily all year round so I haven't really noticed an increase in flying fur. My cat is strictly an outside cat and will not stand still for petting long enoungh to let fur fly.
I do get piles of dog hair in the corners of the foyer and the bathroom. They appear to be a light golden color so they are not readily noticable.
They would probably spin into a beautiful golden yarn. But I feel no desire to spin ;)

I think so. I've seen lots of squirrels running around without their winter jackets on (still wearing leggings, though) and the past couple days a robin has been keeping me company while I worked on my front yard. I even saw a ladybug a few days ago.

Oh, and, you can hand spin the fur by rubbing it between your fingers. I do this sometimes just for fun.

Imagine 16 cats! LOL On second thought, don't. Luckily, most of mine are indoor/outdoor cats so most of their shedding is being done outside but still, what seems like tons of hair make it inside too. When I've pet one of them, so much fur comes flying off that I jokingly said to my hubby 'We could have another cat in with all this fur!' lol He looks at me as if I've grown another head. lol

I think it does, thats the reason I hate cats. All that hair all over the cloths. Not for me here.

Yes, I know what you mean. My cats and my dog are all shedding and I'm cleaning up after them constantly. I don't know if super hot weather is on its way in my area. In fact, I am sure its not but I do hope it means the weather will be at least a little warmer. =)

Yes, I think that you are right because my dog is doing exactly the same thing. It is very messy Ha Ha!

I always knew spring was here when my dogs started shedding clumps.

Hello Danishcanadian I´m happy to read about you and Shakti. I have the same problem with my tom cat named Margalo she has three kitties. She comes to bed and there´s hair of her everywhere, and my husband gets mad each time she is over his pillow. I have changed twice bedclothes last week. And today I had my little poodle dog at the vet´s beauty he get rid of tons of hair. He looks so happy.
Spring is in the air!
Blessings Danishcanadian... dainy

I don't know if the hot temps are on their way, but I would say that it's definitely time to get that spinning wheel.
Or you could just buy a FURminator. Great grooming tool, and cats just seem to love it.
