April 20 (Saturday), NBA playoff is set to start. 16 teams advance to the playoff and will battle it out to advance further to the finals. Will the Heat be able to defend the title? Or will the Knicks provide a stiff competition for the Heat? HOw far the Lakers will go in the playoff? What do you think?

the lakers, i guess, will be booted out by the san antonio spurs. yes, without kobe, it is quite to imagine the lakers going deep in the playoff. the heat looks very formidable with miller, allen, lewis, and andersen as their back-up. the big three remains to be the most potent scorers in the league. well, the knicks are the darkhorse in the playoff. i see them going deep in the playoff.

I agree on the Lakers part, I consider them eliminated. Kobe Bryant is a playoff player without him the Lakers are shorthanded. Nash is not delivering what LA hoped he would, so the only piece left for them is Howard, who finally has started to deliver what his addition promised. The Spurs on the other hand have the pieces in place and have hopes to make a run in the playoffs. (I know Magic thinks they are equal - I dont!) Heat are no doubt the top seed and everybody expects them to win another title. I think New York is gonna have a pretty hard time - they have to face the Celtics, who are a playoff team. I believe they could even be eliminated by them. And if they beat the Celtics, they are highly likely facing the Pacers in the second round. The Pacers are going to be very difficult to beat in playoffs.

Lakers need to make some changes. They have the talent. They just dont, or wont play together. Id start at the top. Bye bye Kobe B.

I think the Heat have to be favored to repeat. They have the pieces to win it all. The only way they are going to not win is if they face a team that gets really really hot. I don't think the Knicks have what it takes to beat them.
The Lakers may beat San Antonio but they won't get past OKC. With or without Kobe that is where I was expecting their season to end.

Well the rules are often applied pretty vague. In the series Boston - New York Carmello is getting all the calls he desires. Last night however he got called for offensive fouls repeatedly and it got felt. What I think is that they often let superstars get away with small "abuse" of the rules which often gives them an edge. It should not however be like this. The Celtics didn't get swept. I was afraid they would get swept and I am happy they did not, however only a fool would hope for a 3-0 3-4 comeback. There is no hope. The next game, in New York, with J.R. Smith will highly likely be the last for the Celtics this season.
The Lakers are as of today swept, the season is over for them. This season was very controversial for the Lakers. Expectations were very high - they have put a bunch of superstars and MVP type of characters together, but that is not enough to win a championship. You have to have a balanced team and stay healthy. Kobe's injury is probably a result of long time strain, since the whole team leaned on him during the whole season. They have a rebuilding period ahead I suppose.

I watched part of game one of the Lakers/Spurs and the Lakers looked terrible. Spurs did look sharp. I know travelling is kind of an optional call in the NBA but Ginobili was really flaunting it. You can't jab step fake with both feet before putting the ball on the floor. That's a pretty blatant travel. Not going to argue the results though. The better team definitely took game one.

I am predicting that Oklahoma City Thunder will win the championship without 6th man James Harden. Don't count on Chicago Bulls because they are still surprising team. Miami Heat will win the east. I hope Lakers will fall without Kobe. Let us see after the playoff.

Count me in as a Lakers hater. I must say one has to respect Kobe Bryant tho, what he did this season was spectacular. I do believe he will eventually bounce back. But Im afraid my beloved Celtics are about to be swept! However I still hope they can win at home. KG will hopefully have a big game and Jeff Green will be a big factor. Paul Pierce can be counted on, he will deliver every night. Chicago are 1-1 right now, pity Rose is not playing. With him back the Bulls would probably be threatening the Heat.

I think that the Denver Nuggets have a pretty good chance of winning the playoffs this year and they are the team that I most want to win the championship. However I think that there are a lot of teams that could win the championship this year. The most obvious choices for me as to the teams that actually have a chance of winning would be the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Miami Heat.
The teams that I think could be dark horses though are the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, and the Brooklyn Nets. They all have the talent on there teams to be champions but they just haven't shown throughout the season that they are able to put it all together yet. I also think that the Chicago Bulls and the Golden State Warriors could shake things up a bit but they will have to be playing incredibly well.
I like the Denver Nuggets though because they are just so explosive and can really run up a lot of points in a hurry. In my opinion they are the most exciting team to watch in the NBA right now and I'm hoping that I will be free on some nights for their games because I love watching them play.

I believe Miami will win again. Right now they are the best team in the NBA. The addition of Allen is huge for them. Lewis can also be useful. I hope the Celtics advance, they are my favorite team, I must say I'm pretty sad that Rondo is gone. But even without him they are pretty capable.
