Now his phone was stolen!!

The saga with the oldest son's phone continues. First, he dropped the phone and broke the screen. So we got him a new phone. Then, his friend's little brother knocked the phone out of his hands, and again broke the screen. So we got smart and put insurance on the phone and bought an expensive case to protect it if it falls. Today my son came home mad because someone had taken his phone out of his pants pocket while he was in gym. He says there is nowhere else safe to put it during gym because the lockers don't have locks on them. Right now my husband is at the school trying to figure out who has the phone. He put a GPS tracking app on his phone so he can track my son's phone and it is still at the school. I'm so mad right now! A little bit at my son, but mostly at whoever took the phone. Why would someone do that? Especially a high school kid.. he must have known he'd be caught, and as soon as he brings the phone home he is caught because we have the GPS tracking on it!! And my husband is so mad he will call the police as soon as we figure out who took it! Have you ever had anything stolen from you? Did you get it back?

Ugh...I can feel your frustration just by reading this. I totally agree with you about being upset. I haven't had to go through a situation like this...thank goodness. I hope you get the phone back and that it is not damaged. Not to turn this around but are there lockers that your son can put his phone into while he is at gym? Good luck.

So, did you or your hubby found it? I guess this would be one of the concern that I will have when my son finally gets his phone this coming fall. He could be forgetful sometimes (lunch kits, books, jackets, homework, etc.), so I wouldn't be surprised if he'd come home one day and say he lost his phone. Or that somebody took it. Hope you find it.

I understand this all to well. My son has had a few phones stolen. Thats why I dont buy them. He has one and has worked to be able to pay for it. I think that this is a good way to get the kids to understand the importance of keeping up with his things. My husband has had things stolen in the gym so I dont get surprised about any kids things that they do. Kids are pretty sneaky and very envious sometimes and wont think twice about taking something that they wish they could have.

I have never had anything of real value stolen from me, and anything that was stolen I have never gotten back. I hope whoever took it is dumb enough to bring it home so they can be caught.

So far it still hasn't left the school. We'll see if it turns up tomorrow. He's on his Facebook account right now messaging everyone who was in gym with him to see if they took it as a joke.

Oh heavens YES. Masses of stuff stolen and only once did I get a ring that was stolen returned. This was because I was calling the police to search the person's home. My DIL that you like so much had employed this women to work in my house. When DIL left I got rid of this woman who did nothing but steal from me I am glad that you will get it back and don't be too mad at your son. Thieves are everywhere. How clever to have a GPS on it

Geez nothing is safe any more. They should have locks on their gym lockers too. I hope you are able to find it. Over the summer my kids life vests were stolen. We live in a relatively small area and we were at our small family amusement park. We had our stuff sitting on a picnic table at the pavilions and walked down to return the wagon we rented and when we came back they were gone. Sad someone would steal from kids.

People are messed up these days. We haven't found it yet. My son thought his friend did it to mess with him.. but the friend didn't have it. The GPS says it's still at the school, and hubby already talked to the principal. If the phone leaves the school we'll know exactly who did it because it will give us an address!

Many things stolen, none returned. I hope you guys find the phone. As long as your husband was at the school, he should have called the number. :D

We've had many phone stories too. My daughter's phone was snatched from her hand while she was texting, then my son broke about three phones, and recently lost or dropped his last phone. I have stuck to my simple and cheap phone for years.
