Comfort Food =)

When I feel crabby, I eat something starchy or sweet. For some reason, carbohydrates perk me up and uplift me instantly. I love to eat rice. Maybe because I am lucky not to gain weight even after so much eating, I sometimes eat rice four times on a regular day. Of course, we know sweets makes our bodies release endorphin that makes us happy. Chocolates, cakes and ice cream are my best bets. What about you? What do you eat, or drink, to comfort you on bad hair days? :)

Those foods you mentioned are the foods which brings a smile in my face . Those are my favorites also. Yes if my days are dark , these things gave color. When i am under pressure these made me calm and relax. The problem with this is it adds to my weight . It's okay i will double time jogging , exercising.

Food always make me smile. I have a lot of favorites, but everything can lighten up my mood, specially when I'm full after a hearty meal.

Whenever I feel down and tired, just love to eat some salty foods then after ate it I followed it uo with something sweet. And after eating those foods just cant help to say to myself "what a good life..." hehe. Well a least through eating I feel energize again and able to look how good life is. That is the greatest power of food. Well anyways, now, I think I should go on diet. Hehe. Happy food triping my friend!! Enjoy food!!

Right! I love eating so much. It's a great thing I was blessed with good genes of fast metabolism that it's totally cool to eat and eat when I feel so bad. :)

But sometimes, it's also frustrating that I don't gain weight. I am so skinny I wish I had more curves.

The reason carbohydrates perk you up is because carbs are where we get our energy. Carbs have gotten a bad rap in years past with all these fad diets. There is nothing wrong with carbs as long as you eat the right ones. The starch and sweets you mentioned are actually the bad carbs you want to avoid. They can perk you up, like you said, but the spike in energy they supply doesn't last long. That's why after you eat such foods you can feel kinda run down and lethargic later. That sharp decline in energy is often referred to as crashing. Probably the only benefit that these carbs, simple carbs, provide is a quick energy boost. The kind of carbs you should eat, complex carbs, such as fiber, are the ones that come from eating whole grain foods such as whole wheat and vegetables and fruits. The energy they provide lasts much longer and they have important health benefits. Well, enough with that quick lesson on nutrition. I guess just about any food could be a comfort food for me. I love food. I like food with bold, hearty flavors. My favorite kind of food is Mexican and Tex-Mex. I could eat it all the time. I don't think it is what most people would consider comfort food but it sure comforts me. LOL

I guess comfort is a n objective thing. :) Thank you for the carbohydrates enlightenment. :) I sure learned a lot from that. Right now, I'm munching on some white cheese-flavored whole wheat toasted bread. Complex carbs are you said it. :)

I love to eat cookies and cold softdrinks, but if I want to eat rice I want fired hotdog and dip with vinegar, Aw, Im starving right now.

For me, when I am in a bad mood, ANYTHING greasy and high in fat satisfies! Give me some Orange Chicken, or a 1/4 pounder loaded with everything, or a big carne asada burrito with everything on it! Have you tried Jasmine rice? That is my favorite kind.

I will try jasmine rice real soon because a lot of people here in myLot seem to favor on it. :) Orange chicken is really yummy. I've stopped eating chicken since high school because of my eczema, but I just had it cured so I can try orange chicken again. :)

me too, i like to eat chocolate, cakes, cookies, and ice cream when i'm in bad hair days. well, i like sweet things when i'm in my holiday or in my bad mood. i don't like eating salty food, in my holiday or bad mood. that's my opinion.

When I feel down, upset or sad I eat everything I find in my house! :D I love pop corn but also I make sweets to fight bad mood! And it works! :D I probably will get fat but happy! :D

Pop corn with cheese is my favorite. Personally, I don't mind gaining a little weight as long as I'm happy.
