You know, a lot of people have this mentality that travel is just impossible... If this is something you REALLY want to do, go for it. First off, open a savings account or something like that where you can put a little money in every month (or every paycheck). Nothing crazy. Whatever the cost of a meal is or what you would spend on a night out, put that much money away. The key is to treat it like another bill you have to pay each month. For example, every month Netflix is about ten dollars (US). $10 every month in an account you don't spend from will add up pretty fast. Meanwhile, get your paperwork together to get a passport. Since it's travel-related, you could use your special travel account to pay the processing fees. I know it can be expensive just to get a passport, but it's worth it. Even if you never get to travel, at least you have a passport and the option open. So, once you have your passport, wait a few months (or years) to start looking for a flight. You shouldn't travel alone because it's more fun, and safer, to travel with someone. Even if it's 10 years from now, time goes by faster than you would think. There are times of the year when it's cheaper to travel and buying a ticket a few months in advance can also help you save money. There are special travel packages you could find or visit someone you know. After your first trip, you'll have the confidence to venture further and feel better about traveling.
