When I was a teenager my grandmother and I were both underweight and we both wanted to gain weight so we turned it into a kind of competion. I had to reach 40 kg and my grandmother had to reach 50 kg. It was very difficult for us to reach 40 kg and 50 kg. I ate a lot of unhealthy food, but I remained underweight. My grandmother also tried to gain weight and she wasn't very succesful either.
Today I am 20 years older and I wouldn't describe myself as underweight I am trying to lose weight at the moment, and it is a challenge because I love sweet things. Today it is a bit funny to think about the past. It was so hard to reach 40 kg at that time and today I would love to have that problem
Are you satisfied with your weight or would you like to gain or lose weight? Have you always been overweight/underweight?

Right now I'm not comfortable with my weight. i wanted to lose weight but i can't cease to eat a lot. i think what i need now is motivation to control my eating. i want to exercise but when i woke up early morning, i feel tired to get up to do some exercise. before i'm very conscious about my weight but right now it's the opposite. some of my wardrobe doesn't fit me already. i was never over weight nor under weight, my weight right now is the normal weight for my age and height. but i wanted to get back to my old shape. i hope i can do it soon...:)

I can relate to the things you wrote because I also find it hard to control my eating. I have the best intentions, but in many cases I am not able to stick my goals and I end up eating food that I wasn't supposed to eat. My weight goes up snd down. I lose some kilos and then I go out with a friend and I eat more than I planned and then I am pretty much back where I started. I want to learn to control my eating. Otherwise it will be too hard to lose weight. I also want to include more exercise in my daily schedule because I don't exercise as much as I did in the past.

Oh Porcospino, I hear ya! When I was 18-19 I would make sure I had a milkshake every single day along with all the bad fun foods, just to gain some weight....so I really know where you're coming from.
I finally got to a decent weight when I was in my 20s...not high, not low..just a good weight for my height, like around 110 pounds. I don't know Kg's or I would tell you, lol!
Anyways, as I got older I gained a bit of weight, but I stayed at between 110-115 for years and years. It was great.
I quit smoking a year ago and all hell broke loose. Now I'm about 130 and I could puke. I really need to get going on some more exercise and I'm just plain aggravated. I really don't eat any more than I used to but can't lose for nothin'!!!

One of my friends experienced the same situation as you. She had been a smoker for many years but one day she decided to quit smoking and since that time she gained weight. In my own case it started after my depression in 2005 when I started taking antidepressants. When my doctor gave me the prescription said: "Many people gain weight when they take those antidepressants, but you are very skinny, so it will not be a problem if you gain some weight" When I started takind the antidepressants I wasn't worried about gaining weight, and I actually thought that it would be a nice side effect, but I gained more weight that I expected, and today I have the opposite problem.

I have always been overweight and have been so for various reasons. As a kid, I was mostly fat. When I was older, I started playing football, and lifting weights, which caused me to seriously grow. When I finished high school I weighed around 265 (120kg), and was really strong. I kept playing hard, lifting heavy, worked at places that involved heavy lifting, and continued eating a lot of food. At my height I was 353lb (160 kg) at 5'9" (175cm), and that was three years ago. My size and strength meant I couldn't play football anymore because I was too big and too strong for the other people. I wasn't good at other sports unless it involved having raw power. It seems strange but I felt my best at that weight because I had so much strength (sometimes too much), and I still had agility and flexibility (to be fair, I don't like running because I am clumsy, and with my build, if I ran into a person, they would be badly hurt). I like being big, heavy, and strong. It helps with daily activities, I don't have to rely on people as often for help, it gives me 'presence', because I am big and slightly intimidating, it keeps people from bothering me, and because I like eating, I can justify my appetite easier. Right now, I am 330 lbs (150kg), and I feel fine, and this is after I loss a lot of weight from being sick. This happened a couple of times where I have gotten sick, lost a lot of weight, and came back, bigger, stronger, and heavier. I try to be careful since this is not normal for a person to weight this much (I weigh more than I look, though I am still big) I wold like go into powerlifting, or strongman lifting to justify my size, which my climb back to what it is used to being at 350 or 360 lbs, as long as I can do it safely.

I don`t like my weight at all. I had a nice weight for my size until 10 years ago. Different things unbalanced me: deaths in the family (I lost weight), anxiety afterwards (put on weight) and many other problems. Now I`m 20 pounds overweight and I will have to do something about it. Next week I`m going to a doctor who, I hope, will check my weight and help me with a reasonable diet.

It sounds like a good idea to discuss it with a doctor. I hope you can find a good diet that will help you. My own weight keeps going up and down, I lose some weight and then I gain weight again, and I think that happens because it iis very hard for me to stay again from sweets things. I am ahle to do it for a while and then I have some days were I can't resist the urge to buy candy. I generally eat a lot of vegatables at the moment and I also try to exercise more than before, but I think that I need to cut back on the candy if I want a permanent weight loss..
