Hello Friends,
From the time I have joined mylot I have been reading about article writing sites from the fellow mylotters here. I visited almost all of the sites to see whether I can see myself posting in any of those elite and paying sites. Every time some or the other thought would crop up in my mind and stop me from applying in those sites. Recently, I read a post on expertscolumn and finally I made up my mind to join the site. I read its FAQs and writing guidelines and without a second thought I registered there.
I received an email from the admin asking for a sample article on the basis of which they would approve or reject my account. I framed an article and send it for review just a few minutes ago. I received another mail from them saying that due to large number of mails they receive daily, they might take some time to respond to my mail.
I want to know if this is the normal procedure of getting an approval from them? Also, does expertscolumn pay through Paypal to Indian users?

That's new: EC never used to check quality (which is why it was so popular). It's not a normal process at all and asking for free samples is one of the oldest scams around, although it's more acceptable on rev share (since they'll post it and you'll earn).
EC doesn't scam, so it sounds like they've introduced an editorial filter to counteract the effects of Panda, which makes sense.
I have no idea what payment processors they use: it used to be PayPal or AlertPay. That information should be in their terms.

Alright so it's a new process. Well, I tried my best to tailor the sample article according to EC writing guidelines. I just hope I get an approval from them. Actually there are two payment processors mentioned in the FAQs i.e. Paypal and Moneybookers. As far as I can recollect what I had read there around an year ago was that it paid through money bookers to the Indian writers and rest through Paypal. Now its FAQs doesn't state that categorization of payment processors and that is why I need an insight on this.

Contact the guy who runs the site. When I did a site review of it for my blog, he was really friendly and helpful - and VERY open to communication, unlike many site owners.

nov 26 2012 11am i received an email from ec thanking me for registering and asking for a 200+ words sample article. i emailed immediately the piece i prepared in advance. i got an automated response that it might take awhile due to the volume that they receive.
next day, nov 27 2012, 3pm, they emailed back that it was approved.
i hope by this time you've been approved already. part of the reason i joined is because it pays through paypal.

Hello hereandthere,
I haven't been lucky enough to be approved by them. I have been reading a lot about this site here on mylot and really want to be a part of it, but I guess they didn't like my sample article. Should I send another article to them and ask them to reconsider my registration? What would you suggest?

i would resend the original email with the sample article attached and follow up with them. the site was down recently due to maintenance so maybe it got lost in the process.

I have sent lots of sample articles to various sites. Many have got rejected.
A sample article has to be very good. A sample article is like the foundation and so, we tend to be fidgety about it. When we are fidgety, we do not get good ideas and we tend to commit many mistakes in the article. That is why many of us fail to write good sample articles. It is not that we are bad writers, it is just that our fidgeting gets the better of us.
I am not sure about expertscolumn.

I know the sample article has to be exclusive and outstanding and this pressure leads to nervousness, which can result in an average article. Perhaps this could be the reason for not receiving approval mail from them. I should have been more careful

Be positive about it. I am a member of the site for more than a year and yes lately they implemented this new policy. But I'm sure it's worth the wait. EC is a great site and I'm sure you will like it when you qualified.
Have a great day!

I know it is one of the best article writing sites and has been paying its members for years. How long do you suggest I should wait? Actually, I want to start posting in other sites also, but EC doesn't accept published articles now. So I wish to post my articles in EC first and then in other sites.
