i hate it when all i do is post something, get a couple of likes, then i have people messaging me in my inbox wanting to take up all my time and chat. i have my chat box feature turned off for a reason. this guy won't stop messaging me and i am about to tell him that i don't really want to chat anymore. okay! that's what i will do. it's okay to be rude, right? it's only facebook.

Oh I hate that too, I always have chat turned off because I find it a waste of time especially when they have nothing to really talk about and they do it for the sake of chatting. I had to tell this guy to stop once everyday it was always "hi how are you?" so annoying!

Yeah those darn games. I block all the game requests so I now don't get them often thankfully. I only use FB to keep up to date with my family and friends and I have a photography page but nothing else.

Whenever I don't want to chat. Which is all the time. I keep the chat option turned off.

And when people message me, I just don't answer it immediately if I don't feel like it. To me a message is like...meh, I'll get around to it eventually.

I don't open my chat up very often. I would rather send messages and look at them as I need them.

Well I think the best way for you to do is just to ignore his invitations as if nothing happened.

What i do sometimes is i say "g2g" or brb. That seems to work. I like to use brb so when they say "I thought you where afk" i say "oh i forgot to tell you that i was back i wonder why you did not reply."

I hate chatrooms full stop, when I had my Facebook account I turned off the chat, I just can't stand small talk, some of the gaming sites I use have chatrooms, and I get bored very quickly, at the flirting, the cussing, the cyber bullying and the banal chat that goes on, so I turn it off. I haven't got the time, patience or inclination. If you tell this guy that you don't want to chat any more, end of.. he should respect your decision. If he doesn't block him.

Hi MoonGypsy, my friends will know I'm busy online doing more essential things if I ignore the chat. I'm glad that all my fb friends are people I know offline. I would send them mail when I have free time. I understand that we don't have the mood to chat when we are depressed or in blue mood or busy. Be friends of us they should understand our feeling. It's a good idea to turn off the chatting feature if we really don't have any mood to chat
Happy posting and have a nice day

I keep my chat turned off all the time right now. I don't really have issue of people wanting to chat with me. Usually I get a few likes, and then possibly a few comments but that is about it. I usually only get an email if it is something important.
If I were you I would just tell the guy that you are busy and will talk later. I don't think that is being rude at all.

That's one of the reasons why I don't really like facebook. People I have no desire to talk to always start talking to me through the instant message thing. I usually ignore most people unless it's a person I really want to talk to or I feel bad for always ignoring someone lol.
If someone talks to me I usually respond with short answers and I hope that I get a reply back from that person that doesn't really require me to write them back lol

Or you can simply block him! I know it's really irritating. This is what I complained about to Facebook a few days back. I even posted a discussion about it. I blocked him.
