Are people who decide not to have children selfish? I truly didn't want children till I fell pregnant at 31 If it had been up to me I would have been sterilised at birth I then went on to have another two Its been the hardest job I have ever done but I wish I had been told that when they enter each new phase of their lives you worry just as much but for different reasons Now my kids are all grown up I have my parents to worry about Both mum and dad had falls last week and I now spend more and more time with them Its easier to leave than to be left behind...!

There is nothing selfish in it. Perhaps somebody told you that it is selfish not to have children. You need not take such people seriously. If many people decided not to have children, then the population will decrease. Not having children is therefore beneficial and unselfish. If only many people were childless, we would have far lesser people and the prices would come down and there would be lesser pollution and lesser scarcity of resourses.

Not everyone is meant to me a parent. Look at all the child abuse that occurs, or children who are put into the system, for whatever reason. If a person definitely know they don't want to have kids, then that's they're right. I wanted to have kids...I have 3. Sometimes people change into wanting kids when it just happens. Each person is different. I feel like I'm talking myself around in circles and making absolutely no sense whatsoever.
