Will you be offended?

facebook - some messages can be devastating, even if it is just a status.
Facebook status can be an instrument to make or break.

Now I have lost my appetite to this friend for tagging my name into something negative.

This is a friend of mine, posted something on her facebook wall. and her message was " I did a Mavic _________ stunt today! Feeling disoriented from fatigue after gym and hurrying to my next appointment, I thought I was hailing a Taxi as I came out of the glass door of the mall where Fitness First gym was at. Then to my surprise, as I got nearer the "Taxi" that it was actually a police car. Ha haha... Oooops! (",)" I was a bit slighted.. however, at this point I have not replied to this yet, thinking if this was offensive and trying to mock me... (Whispers to you: I am a bit sensitive nowadays because of the hormonal imbalance I am having at the moment, you know monthly women problem) I can defend myself like commenting: " I was not having disorientation, neither drunk... you know that I am a nearsighted person and couldn't see far objects specially at night" . but this could be just "defensive" reply. I can make a joke out of it. like ridiculing myself ... saying "I never thought that you are now as STUPID as I was before.. then that makes me SMARTER now" Or.. I can just keep quiet and pretend that I did not see it. for I don't like her other friends to know me. What do you think this friend wanted to imply? Was she just trying to catch my attention? How would you feel if you see this on your wall, and some of her other friends(not your common friends) are laughing about it? Would you feel offended too? How will you reply to this? Any suggestion?

your friend is offensive and so are the other people who like the post! i suggest that you comment that you're offended and that you never thought that nobody ever taught her good manners. she's always picking on you. if this was the first time, i would take it as a joke but since it's not, better assert yourself and put a stop to it.

i wish I can do that friends. but isn't IGNORING just a good strategy since as I have mentioned above she wanted me to validate her story by showing up to that post. Asking my whereabouts. I posted to Kalav's box.

I will be offended ; I would write on her wall" I am not too pleased that I am your friend". If you want to gt rid of her friendship and put her in her place I would write "I am sorry I had the misfortune to have been your friend" and cut her straightaway with no further comments. People need to know where they should be joking and where not.

so you think, it was really offensive... I was thinking it could be just a "passing" thing for me since I am a bit sensitive at this point now. LOL.

I posted in my status: Ouch... that hurts and after a few seconds i was notified of this she tagged me again in that post "Mavic... wru? Remember the good old Sunrise Hill days? Hopefully next time you're back in Manila we can get together again... bawal na ang mag para ng pulis patrol on duty!" translation: Mavic... where are you... Remember the good old Sunrise Hill days? Hopefully next time you're back in Manila we can get together again... (you can not just hail any police patrol cars on duty) she wanted me to show up in her post so she can validate the existence of me. I know. but I did not reply to that respond.

i don't hate facebook because that's where we (my family) communicate. as long as there is internet connection we are connected. I store my photos there too... so for keeping and for my family to see.

I really wanted to HIDE her again in my wall. I did that for several years. I really can't understand her why she kept on putting my spirit down. One time I posted "Hey, Hey, Hey Beautiful Sunday" a friend commented... "Looks like you are always very happy" She commented "are you ok? or you are getting like "rainbow bright" (rainbow bright was our code name to one of our co workers who is like crazy) there are still many more instances

Hugsy I did that. just ignore and move on and earn money from it .. LOL @sdeve there are lots of instances when she do those belittling to me. She will always tell me that I am cynic and pessimistic. sometimes when I posted something like "hey hey hey beautiful Sunday" a friend commented "looks like you are very happy" while she commented "you are sounding like rainbow bright (rainbow bright is the code she gave to one of our teachers who has annoying happiness like a crazy one) I wish I know why she always put me down. I have checked that thought also, and asked my other friend if she observed that, too, tho she confirmed that she also notice the frequent negative remarks on me.

now my question is why someone is offending you? we always like to blame other instead of looking deep into the core of the fact or friction, please muse over individual shortcomings and that will surely lead to some positive outcome. hope this will settle the issue as well.At the same hope this will not offend you again!

I would either ask her what her problem is or remove her from my facebook. If shewasn't someone I talk to on a regular basis i would just remove her.

Yeah if it was a PM I could have not taken it seriously but I supposed this was a post and others will see it and read about it. But I guess there is no point replying on it. If it still offends you then maybe try PM her and tell what you feel about the post you read about you. I think if she was a real friend she would not be offended and even be apologetic about this post.

Well no need to be in word war with your friend. I think the thing is you should settle things privately without a third party or some witnesses around since it could complicate things.

so my feeling is valid.. I was offended. I did not satisfy her by answering to her question and mentioning my name again on the same post. I did not even bother to comment back to her comment in one of my posts, anyway it was just a link and I shared.

If its posted on her FB wall for all the world to see and make you look like a total idiot, this is something which is way over the top. And since you said that it is becoming her habit, it is time to break that bad habit of your friend before she tries to do something more of this in the future.

Actually i don't know how to break it. yes that's how I feel.... why tell the world that I authored Idiocy. why include me in her post. why not just tell that she had mistakenly hailed a police mobile and not a taxi cab. why drop my name on it. and to rub it in.. to validate her post she commented there again "Mavic... where are you... Remember the good old Sunrise Hill days? Hopefully next time you're back in Manila we can get together again... (you can not just hail any police patrol cars on duty)" which I did not comment back. No way I will show up in her post.

That's also a good one. Ignore her totally. Because some say that weak people revenge and the intelligent ones ignore nonsense people. Better to let her feel that she does not exist at all.

It sounds like she's trying to make a joke at you. If you can't handle it with a laugh, you should ignore the post or even delete it. You could make a joke back, or post something back at her page.

naaahhh I chose IGNORE ......... i can't understand why make a joke on me.... catching my attention? why can't she just acknowledge her stup!dity and quote me on it. Why do I need to be mentioned in her blooper?

Now that you have your period, you should stay away from social networking sites or you'll regret your hormonally-triggered posts in the future. Better laugh it off and counter-attack the comment. Like something witty and smart ;) Revenge is sweeter because words are sharper ;)

well I don't like to be in the trap, anyway our common friends are not LIKEing it too. so maybe that will do. They used to LIKE her posts. pass... anyway, I earned a few cents from that offending post.
