It Always Pays To Have Extra Batteries In Your Pocket!

For the last few weeks, the beautiful clock in the German bakery (German Baked Specialties) has been frozen on 11:20, and it was driving me CRAZY!!!! The workers kept saying the clock was broken, and the boss was going to look into it. Finally tonight I asked the guy exactly WHAT was wrong with the clock. He told me the batteries were dead. OK, that's a bit different from "broken." LOL I asked him what kind of batteries it took, and he said "one double-A." Great! I had 4 on me, because of my digital camera. It's standard for me to keep 2 in the camera, and 4 spaces on me. I don't have anything that uses an odd number of batteries, so I gave him 2 of the AA's and figured that if one lasted about a year in a clock like that, he'd never have an excuse to have a stopped clock. He was pretty impressed that i was able to solve the problem, and re-filled my coffee cup, free. Nice to know that having a purse full of batteries pays off, and I'm glad that flippin' clock finally works!!! :) People, if you carry extra batteries of any kind on you, pop an extra set in your bag, or pocket, incase someone's clock has stopped. :)

As my motto goes, 'it's better to have something and not need it, than need it and not have it." I always have extra AA and AAA lithiums, 2 RCR123A and one 18650 in my bag.

I used to walk around with a pocket full of change. On more than one occasion I helped out business who had run low on the end of a long night or on a Sunday afternoon. I used to be able to pull over $5 of change out!

They were too lazy to change the battery? Good grief. Maybe they should hire you to keep things running smoothly. I'm glad they refilled your coffee for free. Too bad they didn't give you like free coffee for a month deal.

I am glad that you were able to solve the problem and remedy something that was annoying for you as well. I do carry a camera with me at all times as well, since I do a lot of work online posting articles and photos it is always good to have a camera at the ready, I always carry and extra couple of batteries in my purse. I am glad it all worked out for everyone.

Now I will try to have an extra battery available in my bag (always) - hehehe I always have extra battery at home because I don't want to see my clock stopped for a minute. I need my clock working for me all the time- or else I will be lost
