Listening to My Kind of Music

Do you love music like I do? Several years ago when computers were not yet known and not many music lovers have yet discovered the power of surfing the internet for lyrics, I would always have a pen and notebook to catch the lyrics of the song I began to love the first time I heard it. Nowadays, whenever I hear a song and fell in love with both the lyrics and melody, I would search the net for the lyrics and voila, I could readily sing along and learn to sing the song fast.
Were you like me during those days when you would write the lyrics of the song the first time you heard it on the radio, or fail to get a copy from your favorite songhits?

Hey there! What I still do is, every single time a catch a catchy or a nice song which I really like, I would immediately press my ears to the speaker of the radio just to catch a line or two of the lyrics. Then, remembering the line, I would key it in a search bar on the Internet and see which song has the matching lyrics. Then all I just need to do is listen to the melody of the song and determine whether it is the same song I heard. :)

I do this exact same thing all the time to discover new songs I enjoy after first hearing them. This usually occurs however, whenever I haven't got quick access to the Shazam app.
This is the "old school" method that followed the jotting down notes and appending existing notes every time you randomly revisited an enjoyable tune on the radio of course.

Yes, I love listening to the music of my choice. I generally love music especially when the lyrics seems to speak to my heart. When I hear the music I like, I try to remember lyrics by singing along. No, I am not writing the lyrics. It makes me tired. I buy songhits and wait for the song to play on the air.

hahahha... same here.. ^^
I used to do that, too. :)
I remember the time that I'd run from the kitchen to my room (where my personal radio was located) grabbed a notebook and pen... then listened very closely to the speaker of the radio... haha! So funny! I hardly completed the lyrics of even one song... ^^
Thanks to computers nowadays... :)

I am pretty sure anyone born in the early-mid 1980's and prior will have firsthand experience of this.
Before the internet this was the only way to get the lyrics to your favourite songs aside from the liner notes that accompanied the album when you purchased it or borrowed it from a friend.
The world is changing drastically, but it doesn't mean that we forget the past, we are the ones who speak of this so the young people can learn how it once was. Consider it a history legend for them and nostalgia for ourselves.
