Suppose elders stopped indoctrinating their kids about god, heaven, hell and that all stuf? What would be the result?

In all likelihood children would invent their own gods. The human species seems to be hardwired to believe in some form of god or gods. Deus sive natura

Actually I don't think the world would drastically change but at least there would be no religious wars and people wouldn't be delusional.

the result would be great, when believers exist without indoctrinating they will be real believers that truly understand God and religion they will be like angels on the earth, no religion teaches to hate or harm any one, it is the influence of haters. the Holy Qura'n says that every soul contains the Good and the Evil inside it, see 91:7-8 clearly say that both the Good and the evil are inspired to every soul, both the Good and the Evil not Good or evil. All religions are about how to raise the goodness of your soul and make your Good soul masters you actions.

Hi Frederick, The world would be a much better place if children were not indoctrinated in that way. Of course the leaders of religion are not going to let that happen unless they eventually have no choice in the matter. We should all be allowed to make our own choices about such things when we are adults. I am spiritual but certainly not religious and I feel that most people would still believe in God, without being brainwashed but not in the same way that religion teaches. We are not here to worship a God but to learn to live together in mutual respect, showing compassion toward all. That is religion enough for anyone. Blessings.

Everyone needs to know the truth and decide what they want to do.

I think more of them would actually find God rather than beliefs based on the stories of mankind. I think it would be better. It's a bit like this artist I knew. Everyone told him how to paint. It wasn't until he ignored everyone that his real talent came out. So often by defining something for others we place walls around them restricting them from discovering it all.

It would be a godless society having no hope and without God in this world.

It is natural for children at a young age to imitate their parents, adopting their customs and way of life, as well as sharing their belief structure. It is the right and responsibility of the parents to guide the children in their growth and education, according to what they think is of benefit for the children both in the short and long term. If God, heaven and hell exist, there aren't so many things that would be more important than sharing about that. But, it should always be done within an atmosphere of love and respect for the children.
