No More Chance For My Old PC

Studying every angle of my internet connection problem, I decided to apply for a permanent connection. As of now I am choosing between PLDT and Smart. As I need a personal computer to be used for the main connection, I decided to clean my old PC which I have not used for several months and brought it to the technician. After several testing done on my poor old PC, the technician told me, "I'm sorry mam we it seems that we can not do anything to give life to your computer. This computer is an old model already and you need to order the part (motherboard) before we could repair it. Likewise, we are not also sure if the part is still available because this model has been phased out already. "Oh, I just tried if this can still be fixed," was my reply. But then he told me, "You can buy a package for eleven thousand ($275)." Well, I didn't know that PC nowadays are that cheap already. At least now I know. I will just buy a new PC. I hope to get fast internet connection on the next few days. Have a wonderful day everyone!

If you plan to stick to pc, buy a dual core, you would be surprised how fast your pc is compared to the old one. Smart is now owned by PLDT, so if you plan to go lined internet then go for pldt cause their facilities are already with us for a long time, you can get a plan bundled with your existing land line phone (if you have one), then you would just get one billing in your monthly telephone bill.

I second the motion for you to own a telephone. Actually it's a part of the package and does a vital role in your everyday activity in the internet, especially when your line is weak and broken. You can dial back to your provider to have it fixed.

Hi louie! Thank you for the suggestion. It would be a great help. Regarding the internet connection, actually, I don't need a phone but PLDT says that it is always included in the package so I also make some queries with smart. Thank you for sharing!

Netbooks, laptops and tablets are slowly dominating the market due to its convenience that it's no wonder PCs these days are becoming cheaper. I'm planning on getting a DSL connection soon because the one I'm currently using is so unreliable. So I guess I need to buy a PC and hopefully, set it up in my *fingers crossed* work area :)

Well, that might be. Well, I am also aiming for a faster internet service because I really need it with my online work. Internet speed is really one of the factors to consider when working online. Thank you for sharing!

Yeah, I actually made an article about it, one of the things that we should prioritize if we are aiming for online success. But the thing is, I cannot follow it, he he. I just realized that I am spending more time refreshing my page than the actual work. I visited my sister's place the other day and she have a permanent connection. I brought my laptop with me so I can try it. With a short time of stay in her place I made double of what I am earning everyday with my site. Because the internet is faster, the work continuously comes in. Thus, giving me more chances to complete more jobs. So for a little additional amount, I'm sure I could be able to earn more.

Desktop PCs are getting cheaper and cheaper thanks to technological advancement. They are also very advanced. Usually devices get obsolete in probably 1 year. Cheers

I was surprised when the technician told me about it. I remember we bought this old PC for Php 8,500 ($212). Well, at least that is more affordable. Thank you for sharing!

Sadly, some things have to end. Even though sometimes, we think that computers live forever, they seem to last a good few years, the wear and tear of constant use will definitely have an effect on its performance. However, I did have my own computer checked recently and technicians would say that might last for a good number of years. But they also warned me about buying a new one since new models are easier to break down compared to the old models. My aunt purchased a new computer for her kids and she's hoping it will last beyond their college years. Good luck with your new computer and new providers. PS have someone techie savvy to when shopping. My sibling's techie friend was the one grilling the salesperson when we bought my computer.

Buying a mother board deping on the model will cost a lot. It is almost just smarter to buy a new computer and sell the old on. If you do sell the old one i suggest trying to take it a part and selling the parts, it will be worth way more.

That was what the technician told me. Besides he was not sure if the part is still available. So buying a new one is the best thing I could do. Well, about selling the old one, yeah that is a good suggestion. Thank you for sharing!
