For those who believe their is good in everyone, you need to take your blinders off! Not everyone has your best interest at heart! A couple months ago, I wrote about something that happened when I went to take a lunch break. First, those who want help, can ask. second, when someone who is taller than you, reaches out to grab you, that person DOES NOT HAVE VERY GOOD INTENTIONS TOWARD YOU! If they did, they would not call you a bad name! I have seen and been thru more than anyone here on mylot will ever know! I got on my feet and into a safer place. No one helped me. No one offered me any jobs. I had a cell phone stolen when I was homeless. I have found my biggest passion after I was homeless for the last time. I do enjoy talking to people, but am always very careful because you never know what someone is thinking when it comes to you! It is because there are bad people who have hurt me that I prefer to be alone and not go to places where there are bad people around with very bad intentions toward others! I look at everyone around me and keep my eyes open! Everyone needs to do that, no matter where you are!

I agree there are bad people everywhere, but even more than that I also believe there are good people everywhere. Yes we live in a world where you have to second guess everyone. So often we talk about the bad in the world instead of the good. Acts of kindness often go unnoticed. After the Boston bombing there were people everywhere offering to help. That's when the good comes out right after something bad happens, and those around us band together to help.
So, while yes I agree with you, you need to keep your eyes open and maybe not trust so easily. I also believe there are good people out there who want nothing more than to help. It is sad that you can't just stop and help someone on the side of the road because you don't know if maybe it's some sort of trap and they may try and stab you or mug you or something, but there are still those that still stop to help. I just wish the stories of kindness were heard more than the bad ones. It's so easy to find the bad in people, but maybe we should still look around for the good in people too. It's not that people are all bad, it's that the bad people ruin it for the good ones. Most people have bad and good in them and it's up to us to find the good. Yes there are some truly bad people out there, but most of us are just people who do both bad and good things, as we are not perfect.
I think the goal should be to keep our eyes open and maybe not trust everyone, and trust our instincts, but let's not forget all of the kind acts either. It's easier to believe in the bad than in the good, but everyday there is someone out there doing something great for others. I choose not to give up in the good in humanity yet, even with all of this bad stuff happening, because that's when the good also comes out.

I find if I am around the wrong kind of people (wrong for me I mean) then there is less chance for me to see the good in people. Situations too affect the opportunity to find the goodness in folks. Obviously, for some of the people we meet, it is very hard to see good in them especially if they have huge issues going on inside of them. Many people are not at peace even with themselves. Thank goodness, good will always will win out over evil.

That's true you have to surround the right kind of people in order to see the good in others. The wrong people can only bring you down. It is sometimes hard to see the good in others, some are also really good at hiding part of themselves because of all of the bad experiences in their lives. It's just as easy to see and believe in the bad in yourself as it is in other people. I mean if you hear someone say you're ugly or if you hear someone say you're beautiful, most people are more prone to believe that they're ugly and deny that they're beautiful. It's just the way we are programmed anymore I guess. It's really sad, but some people take solace in beating other people down, but there are so many kind people out there and we often just forget they exist. Just as most of us still have good in us, but we seldom show it, because of the front we put up to fool other people so we can't get hurt. I am not always sure good will always win out over evil anymore, but I believe it still exists, and I think the good still has a fighting chance, and that as long as we keep believing in the good out there it will win out. We all need to just look around and see where we are best able to help in what ways we can help and do it. It would be great to do a pay it forward thing, but many people wouldn't keep it going which is kind of sad, but I love hearing people talk about how they have been paying it forward, and I love hearing the great stories in the media. It always makes me smile.

I think you have a good way of putting things sissy in fact when we think about it all we are is what people tell us for how else can we know. We do need positive reenforcement. When we get that or even if we think we hear the truth then we can be better a better person.
I am convinced that good wins over evil because good will always flourish with love. It builds up while evil tears down. Even when the numbers are overwhelming evil will fall because it strives to destroy itself.
I like the reverence you made to pay it forward as it does really work.

Many people in the world are good people. It is a shame that there are also bad people. It was rotten a thief stole your cell phone. It is not nice to be called a bad name. It is awful for a tall person to knock someone over.
I had a beggar lady follow my son in Cape Town. She was trying to touch him. I spoke to two police officers and they helped me. That was in 2009. In Argentina I bought bus tickets from a tourist place. Whilst I was paying for it two people came and asked the tourist officer for a map. Afterwards I was standing nearby and the tourist officer came to warn me. She told me the two with the map were about to mug me. They had been locals pretending to be tourists.
I felt nervous near the bus station in Argentina's capital city. Many muggers were around. Close to it was a park and I was told not to walk in it because of the danger. Up the hill was that tourist place where I nearly got mugged. I spoke to a Swiss tourist. She had bought a drink and food whilst someone run off with her backpack! That was in 2012.

All i can say is to be vigilant every time. you wont know when would these bad people people come and attack, some bad people disguise their evil intent at first doing good things and then they will reveal their real intent and most of them time they will do you evil things more than the good things they have done.

We have to be careful of course but we can not let this blind us to the possible chance of finding good people as well because they are around as well. The other thing I've noticed in life is how people do change. Good people can turn bad it is true but then bad people can do good things as well. We are a fickle species.

Yes right. There are many bad people and so there are many kind people. As we know in this world there are two things, bad n good, sad n happy, right n left, laugh n cry, etc. Finding true friend is very difficult. The most important thing that just do the best, being good friend, good person, good parent, good teacher. I'm sure for the bad people actually in their deep heart, they don't want to do the negative thing. It because of the condition forced them to do that
