To lessen the unEmployment here the Philippine government must find solution and remove the discrimination to older people here. They must not look upon age. because some of young people are more weak than older people and irresponsible compared to other old people who give importance for the job because they have responsibility for their family and being a bread winner.
It is very unfair. They must have to treat all equal. It's ok to have qualification fot the skills.but for ages. it's really very upset and depressing when you know that you can perform the job but you cannot apply for it because their maximum age is just either 25 or 30 yrs old.
They will say.Because 30 plus they must be a managerial position something like that.HERE job is contractual. and 'baker' system is really the famous one to get a regular job. and if you don't have like me. You will always have end of contract and find jobs to other companies over and over again till you reached 30'S then you will find job no more that suits you because your age is no longer qualified.
Everyone wants to have a regular job. I became one of the best employee but I find no luck with my job because I always be in a job which do not find regularization.and the last one that I find do not obey labor law. and close now. Some of my other co-employees have their 'baker' there so they was absorbed by the company. If you have relatives ,friends working in that company. you have the big chances to be regular employee through their help of course they willl priorities people they know. and every filipino do know that. Only rare companies who really absorbed employee and that mostly are the pioneering company.
So I end up jobless in this age.and more people are like me. I cannot work in a call center for their require fluent in english.the mother of my clasmates was observed in the call center even she is not good in english because their neigboor ishave a high position there and he have helped her as what she told us.and I don't have any 'baker' to work there because only that job doesn't have age discrimination.
This is the big problem for a jobless people like me who are 30+ like me.

I'm 65 yrs. old and live in the US. I can't get a job to save my life! I have gone on more interviews and even though their not allowed to ask your age I'm sure they can tell I'm not 18 and I never get hired. I can't imagine being 40 and discriminated against.

That is so true. There are some people who are considered old for the job because some companies have age requirement. Even though you are still able, they would hire younger people which for me does not make sense at all. The sad truth is that people age 30 and above have mouths to feed because they have families to support. I totally agree with you that there should be no discrimination when it comes to age because a person should be qualified because of his or her abilities and good records at previous jobs they ahd.

Sometimes I feel like cheating my ages and falsification all my documents, I am just a good citizen of my country and keep on obeying our low. If I did that for sure I already landed a job. I have good records the problem only is the age limit. I really wish this will be removed just like what was reported recently. Our economy arises but the unemployment is still constant. why because every year hundred thousandss of graduating students added and added in unemployment rate.so the chances for older people getting smaller and smaller as the year goes by.

there are some criteria for specific jobs. there must be so that there will be no compromise for the performance and output required of the job. when all things are equal, age should not matter. for a job that can be done perfectly well at any age, no discrimination must be directed towards younger or older applicants. i understand that some jobs need to be done by younger or older people, but not all jobs.

Its so different here than there, here there is no discrimination on age. They recommend older to work as much as possible, which in turns take jobs from us younger generation (not saying some of those who are younger arn't lazy or deserve a job). But for example I have been working for years, and the rut I am in because there is no moving up in companies, because the older generations are sitting in them.

Hi ! You said it very rightly ! Yes , age matters in our country . Are we in same country ! So sad in our country because if your in age is already 30 up then as if the door of opportunities are closed already , so sad for this when we know that aged people works best and with a heart, work are never taken for granted because future of the family lies there. Unlike in other country that though 60 still you can work and be productive. Hope our system would change because 30 up is able and capable age and not a worthless age.

Hi thanks for being open minded and you also notice this which our government are not concerned. if they want to lessen the puberty too.then they should act on this. This is also the reason why those who are above the maximum age limit is forced to work abroad even the salary is not good because they have no option and they need to survive for their living and only working abroad is open to their age.

I'm sorry but I beg to disagree there are jobs available for ages 30 to 40 yrs. old from the field of sales, marketing, I.T, teachers, seaman, engineers, consultants aside from call centers.
