I was looking at my profile pictures and I don’t really love any of them. One of my friends takes such good pictures of herself for profile pictures. I would like to have better profile pictures on my account. One of the reasons that I don’t like any of mine is that it shows my weight, not bad but it does. It makes me not feel good, and I am losing weight at a slow pace but until then I don’t have any good pictures to use.
Another reason I don’t have any good pictures is because my phone takes a lot of dark pictures. It is a lot of trial and error just to take a picture that has some light in it. I have actually turned on two lights just to get enough lighting in the picture.
Do you have a good profile picture? Are you satisfied with yours?

I rarely change my profile photo on Facebook - but I guess I am satisfied with it. But it's not just myself - it's me, between my daughter and son. And it's not just a photo - it's actually a black and white "sketch" that was created in one of those token photo machines at Chuck E Cheese's - hee hee! I find it hard to take my own photo - never comes out right . . . it's good to let someone else do it and take several . . . that way you have many to choose from (there's always a good one out of the whole batch). Sometimes you can crop photos from photos not intended to be "profile" photos too. It's fun to play with different filters too - give your photo an artsy look (don't limited yourself to just a traditional looking portrait). Good luck and don't be so hard on yourself about it!

Aww, that sounds very sweet.
Mine isn't a picture of myself or even my kids (although I've used both before). It's of the family dog.

Hi there.
Is profile pic that important in social sites like facebook? Because people already know you and how you are..Hmm..i have put my old pic as profile pic in fb..the same one i have put here.
If you are not satisfied, then maybe you can edit the picture and blur here and there so that not everything in your picture is noticeable to the fact that people might not like your pic...what say?

One of the things that makes profile pictures really good is the high quality. If you really want to get serious buy a high quality camera. Another way to make them better if you take a pic with your phone and it is really dark download paint.net then their is a brightness thing that allows you to adjust the brightness. And their is a lot of other cools things like making it black and white. And the best thing is that you do not have to be a professional to do this it is very simple.

I think the most important is feel good with yourself. If you have the best picture profile around the facebook world, but you doesn't feel good with yourself, that picture achieves nothing. You would start to value yourself as you are and you would appreciate all your good qualities. If you try this, you will see your profile picture with new eyes, and you discover that it's a great picture. Let me give you the courage to make this, then you will be satisfied with yourself.

Some people are photogenic. Even with a sub-standard camera their pictures come out beautifully. Looking at the photos of myself I just feel like tearing them up and throwing them in the bin. So I prefer not to use my own picture for my profile photo. My portrait is not appealing enough for public viewing.

I don't think profile pictures are that important. You're not applying to be a professional model, right? hehe.. Further, everyone has the freedom to post whatever photo you'd like here.
I am satisfied with my profile picture. I don't really post photos of me alone in profile picture, I just think it's too conceited. I just post random photos of me with family or friends.
As for taking good pictures, it's always been practice, practice, practice. Not to mention good lighting, angle and high quality camera or smartphone.
Have a great mylot experience ahead!

I usually use my son's picture as my profile picture. I don't care for any of mine, but I figure it doesn't really matter these people are my friends and don't really care what I look like. I have a family picture of me my son and my boyfriend as my background on my profile. I still have several pictures of me on Facebook, just not as my profile picture. I am the only person anyone knows with my first and last name so it's not like it would be difficult for them to find me.

I notice that some of mylotters here use flowers or others as their profile pictures. They have their own reason for not using photos of them. For my facebook profile I often change my profile picture.

in facebook, i do not know if all of my profile pictures are pleasant to the eyes but all i know is that i love changing it from time to time depending on my mood. i see to it that at least for me, it has a good angle that is nice to look at. love taking pictures and i know, i want it good looking. i just hope that i am not misleading everyone about my looks and that when strangers see me in person, they could spot the big difference in my picture from being good to not
it is okay, actually for me - beauty from within counts most rather than the beauty you have seen outside - hehe! oh what am i saying now. nevermind, just want to thank you for bringing this topic to is :)

If you are not satisfied with your picture then you can edit your pics and can change them in various types...

Yes, I'm satisfied with mine. However, up until my current one, I was never really satisfied with the ones I'd use. Oh, I'd be happy with them for a while, but I'd update them constantly...and that's just not my thing. So I finally found one I don't want to change. Even when I have an urge to update it, I just can't seem to do it. I love seeing it on there. It always brings a smile to my face.
Happy mylotting!

I'm not a good picture taker either. Its a rare occasion where I've liked a picture of myself. I don't know why.... maybe its my skin..... the way I smile..... or maybe the crows feet around my eyes? Who knows. However, its me nonetheless lime it or not. lol On mylot and my username, I don't want to use a picture of myself because I'm very compassionate about animals and want everybody to know it. As for your avatar, I love Tweedy Bird! Hes a cutie! Why change it?
