Were these nice kids gone bad? or kids without a direction? I try not to watch the media but I am interested to hear the opinions of those who have watched the news very carefully on this. hope to hear from you.

Hi Savvynlady, We know that all children are innocent when they come into this world but it isn't long before they pick up on what is happening around them. I cannot judge another although I can judge the deed and what happened in Boston was terrible. All of life is one big mystery and we have no idea of what another is capable of doing, even a best friend or family member. I doubt if we even know what we are capable of doing ourselves when in a certain situation. Then too most people can be brainwashed and we will believe anything if we hear it and repeat it enough. These young people were victims of the society in which they were raised. It's unfortunate but it's the way of the world. Blessings.

I have no doubt that Islam was a factor in this and it's very likely that if these young men were not Muslims, they'd never have done anything nearly this bad. Islam is a religion of hate and violence. This should be obvious to anybody who's read the Koran, not to mention looking at news sources. People like to say, "Most Muslims are peaceful" but all to often, as in this case, peaceful Muslims suddenly turn to terrorism and it really makes me wonder if there's really that much difference between the peaceful Muslims and the terrorists. It's possible that this attack was some sort of response to the Gaza marathon being canceled because Hamas wouldn't let women run in it. Here's an interesting theory about it: http://www.debka.com/article/22914/The-Tsarnaev-brothers-were-double-agents-who-decoyed-US-into-terror-trap

Savvylady, I think a lot of Muslims do put all Christians and all Jews in the same pot. I agree with you about the eldest brother. It's now starting to look as if the mother is also a radical and may have had a part in it.

And these same questions can be asked of the killers at Columbine, and the Colleges and the school out on the East coast! And they weren't associated with any radical groups that I know of! They just wanted to kill other people, and probably without fear that they would be punished!

I tend to agree with you both. The guys at Columbine seemed to have the notion of getting revenge.nerds you could say, who had gone mad. the guys with Boston were Muslim and I am a bit weary to say Muslim but they were extreme Muslims. the young fella, he was misguided. sad but true.

musicman, I'm not sure people like the Columbine killers are really in the same category as Muslim terrorists.

Personally, I don't think it's a question of these people going bad or not. I feel that they're radical religious fanatics who have twisted interpretations of their beliefs. Their friends may have known them as good people, but I feel that it's all a facade. I mean, if you're planning to kill people, I don't think you would act unfriendly to others. It might bring about suspicions or something.

Good thought Beamer and thanks for your response.

beamer, I don't believe they had a twisted interpretation of their beliefs. Have you read the Koran? It's basically hate literature filled with exhortations to use violence against non-Muslims, moderate Muslims, woman and anybody who's done something you don't like. It's the moderate Muslims who are twisting their beliefs!

Hi, Fast resolution to the case, I am amazed at how the police and FBI was able to pinpoint the culprit in so short a time. I think our police force should do the same. As to the perpetrators, they are the product of a social structure gone bad, just like the zombie-brained shooter at Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Conn. I think more are coming like them, young and mentally deranged, their brains turned to murdering idiots due to some social anomaly that went unheeded. Responsible citizens should be quick to identify them in order to avert more massacre in the future.

Rog, I think the problem is that these people aren't easy to identify. I've met lots of bad people and lots of strange people. The strange people often weren't really bad. AFAIK, I've never met a terrorist or murderer. The person who's given me the worst feeling of evil was an Anglican vicar who looked to be in his 50's or 60's and was controversial for allowing New Age groups to use his church. Oddly, there was a very similar looking man at the same event, who was a Wiccan and I didn't get anywhere near as bad a feeling from him. My wife, who has similar abilities to read people as me, agreed with me. I never got to know either of these men very well and I've never heard of them being convicted of any crimes. I'm not really sure what to make of this. In the case of the Boston bombers, it seems that they seemed to be nice guys in spite of being Muslims.

I haven't followed it as close as you want. But from what I have seen. It appears to me that somehow the older of the two had become radicalized as they say either from exposure to sites on the Internet or people he met or even possibly in reaction to some slights or discrimination he encountered or imagined. Then he led his younger brother into to his thinking the same way. The older one at least had become estranged from the rest of the family in the U.S., as related by and uncle who had not had any contact with him for about three years or so. So the family influence was gone and does an appreciation for the reasons that the family had come to the U.S. were lost.

That does bear noting if they didn't keep up with family. Oh, this is sad. thanks for your response.

I can't tell yet until we know more about why they did this. From what friends have said they were good guys especially the younger one. I don't understand how they could be so nice and turn out to be so bad. Unless they were brainwashed by someone and carried this out by a bigger organization. I only hope that this guy in the hospital will be able to talk real soon and tell us WHY and if there are others involved.

Some of the people close or classmates to the kid was claiming that the kid was good, happy guy. SO when they heard the news, most of them cannot accept what had become of the kid. How did he turned so radical. When I heard that, I had doubts. Did they really have the right guy? There is still a lot of questions unanswered.

Yes they are and they were saying that the kid wasn't talking from all of this but was transferred to a prison yesterday. this is real sad because more than likely, he's not coming out of there no time soon.

Well i have been shattered with the Boston bombing as the incident happened when so many people were around, it is so disappointing that bombings happened even after a tight security, which means that the bombings were planned properly. I hope justice prevails and the suspect is held quickly.

I want to wait and see, about the police talking, to this guy and getting all the information they need to get, out of this gut there are so many things, to learn as to why the 2 brother bomb the marathon, and I will be so glad when, the whole truth comes out finally.
