I had never been so excited in my entire life. So Endemol will now open the global auditions for Mars One. In my discussion about it last year, as I said, Its going to be a Reality show that will document the journey of the first 6 people they will send to Mars and stay there for Good. For sure there is a risk of dying but if will make it there. will be part of the history.
Here is my problem. I don't have the education attainment of A Scientist ,Doctor or engineer but they said its open for all.Plus there is a 10 year preparation so non-scientist will have plenty of time to study.
I really don't know what should I do to make them accept me over the experienced scientists. I am an "American Accent" trainer for Call Center agents not a Chemist of Physicist, but If will make it, might choose to be the Biologist/Botanist/Doctor. I really don't know how I will present my self in the auditions to make them choose me. I think its going to be video auditions. I know living inside a glass dome for eternity sounded boring but my life is boring already. At least being bored in Mars while fearing for my life sounds cooler than working in an office.

That sounds interesting but I think I would be too old for the travel and I still love Planet Earth and wants to stay here as much as possible. But for the young and adventurous ones I guess this is the ultimate adventure they can really join in.

I will be 38 by 2023, so I think I am still good to go.I hope they accept me. They said you dont need a college degree because 10 years is enough time to become a scientist.I am bad at Math, so I will try to be the Botanist,Biologist,Doctor,Gardener and Cook of the group. I hope they will accept me. The living conditions sounds awful, as in 7 months on your way to mars, there will be no shower,If you will brush your teeth you will have to swallow the toothpaste,(spitting is not allowed in spaceships) But once you are in Mars you can have normal Bathroom habits again.

I am thinking of creative ways of making my audition tape interesting. I dont care if I wont be able to have a shower for 7 months on my way to Mars, I mean once I am on mars,I can finally have a shower. There is so many competition, My chance might be 1 of out 100 percent but at least 1% is still a chance. I have nothing to lose. The audition deadline is august 2013.

Hello CaptainAlbert, Since when did Marsone became available to every one? i thought the AXE astronaut program was the one free for every one quality for this one trip space program? I wanted to go to outer but i think it will really need to be a genius or expert in math allowing you to go as instructed to. I mean, what if something goes wrong and you need math to course a trajectory anywhere away from the danger..it would be exciting at first but not for long if you realize how boring it is.

but honestly, no one has ever been to mars, and any thing can happen out there. and if there is extraterrestrial life there, it wouldn't be as friendly as those who were colonized before. but you know it becomes important when earth becomes in trouble indeed. . but maybe one day we will colonized mars and the rest of the solar system

1 day before I posted this thread.Only few people are auditioning publicly. the people they will choose will be tarined and educated for 10 years. I wotn am for the Pilot, mechanic and engineer role. I will go for the doctor,, medic, gardener role. I will try to have Math turorials if I will be chosen. 10 years is a long time.
I think its will be boring for first few years but watching the colony grow, thats something I want to notice with my eyes. Before I dont really wanted to be a doctor but learning how to do stem-cell treatments interest me. that treatment is expensive but if I can do that to my self, it will be cheap....
I never wanted to be a doctor because of the corpse dissection thing, but I will endure that if its means I can go to Mars. The education they will provide is free.
