Here comes another cliff hanger

The last few episodes of the year are coming up and they are expected to lead up to a cliff hanger final show like the show has done the past few years. The storyline is going to follow Ziva's pursuit of her father's killer. Unlike last year, where they suggested that one of the character's might have been killed in the explosion or that Ducky might die of a heart attack, none of the main character's would seem to be at risk this time. The show has been renewed for another year and everyone is under contract for next year, well except for Cote de Pablo. Does this spell any trouble for Ziva?

Oh I do hope that they do cancel Ziva. I think that she is the glue that holds all of the guys together. She adds the mystery and intrigue to the entire show. Her Isreali background and working for the Moussad..... The show would not be as good if they replaced her character.

Oops. I made a typo myself. I meant to say 'sinister' character and since the new character is from Israel, I think Ziva will still be back. Though I still worry about Dorny. (I think the current story line leaves Gibbs father safe.)

I think you missed a 'not; in your first sentence. I expect she will be back especially when you consider that they just introduced a new and somewhat sinter character in the lab episode. I'm not being more specific on that to avoid being a spoiler for those who did not see that show.

I'm wondering if Cote will re-sign, as we have seen others leave. I'm hoping she signs, as I think this is one show where I like the entire cast and feel the show is entertaining every episode. Lately, I have watched quite a few reruns and enjoy them also.

I expect that she will return but it's not exactly like last year. When they had the explosion and Ducky had the heart attack, you knew everything would work out because everyone, including David McCallum had signed on for another year or more. NCIS does have a way of killing off characters when you least expect it. Ziva's father getting killed might have been expected but Vance's wife was another thing.
Lately, I've wondered about how they are slowly building up probationary agent Dornegut. I sometimes think they are building up Dornie as a future victim. I didn't realize that Matt Jones (Dornie) has also played Badger on Breaking Bad. In some of the photos they have for Jones on the Internet Movie Database he bears a striking resemblance to Richard Kiel (Jaws of the James Bond movies).

How will the storyline follow Ziva`s pursuit of her father`s killer if th contract of Cote de Pablo is not renewed? I`m sure it will be as the show would not be the same without her. In fact, I don`t knot think I could spare any of the main characters and I wouls be very disappointed if they left the show.

I expect her to return unless something strange happens like what happened with Christopher Meloni on SVU. The writers have stated that they developed the story line before de Pablo became the last cast member who had yet to sign a new contract. They did seem to leave open the possibility of her leaving the show but I think that was more to keep viewers in suspense. One thing that I believe is going to happen is that Ziva and Tony will get closer together.
