My adventure to Walmart

Sunday morning I was the designated shopper for the coming week. I had two households to shop for. So Since it was Sunday, I said a little prayer for the Lord's day, picked up the lists and the shopping bags and set out in my faithful PT Car. I took it slowly through out the store, making sure I followed each list, then I was calm through the checkout, when the new checker messed up the order. I shop each list seperate since I receive funds for each list. Then I got it all loaded in the PT, including Ice cream and set off for home, three miles away. I travel the same road at least one time or more every week. But all of a sudden I heard a terrible sound, I hit something on the winding road up to the road to home. People race up and down that road so I knew it would not be safe to stop there. I knew the tire was flat, but continued the short trip to the gymn parking lot where I knew no one would hit me. Then I called home, no one was home who could change the tire. So I knew I had to call the towing service and it always takes at least an hour for them to reach us. And I had to get the frozen things home. Sure enough someone drove up and we transferred all the bags to that car. They then went home, leaving me to deal with the tow people. That truck arrived about fifteen mins after my family left. All went smoothly and I soon crept home on that tiny tire the cars now carry as spares. This morning first thing I went to the tire store and took care of business. All in all it was a very smooth accident. Do you think my prayer helped?

Designated shopper-now that's an interesting term.

It means three households have need of things from the market, who is going to go? We all hate that job so we play the rock, paper, sizzers game and the one who wins goes to the store.

It is good to start your day with the Lord. I am sure He is with you and seeing you through the day . Give Him the glory due to Him that everything is taken care of and help has been rendered. All went well and the most important thing is you are safe . However, we need to learn to give thanks in good times as well as bad times .

I am sure that the prayer helped. It helped you keep your thoughts focused and to be calm with all the challenges, both in the store and on the road.

Hi savypat, yes, of course the prayer helped you, prayer always does when understood properly. What prayer doesn't do is influence a God that some people see as separate from us and living somewhere in the heavens. Blessings.

I'm quite sure that your prayer helped. There have been many studies done that prove prayer helps, even when people don't know that others are praying for them. I hate those tiny spare tires! I wish we could go back to full-sized spare tires and I think it would be safer. I'd also like the bright lights switch back on the floor but that's not going to happen, either. I don't like all the controls on the steering wheel. I would love to get an old car that would run for 10-15 years without major repairs. You could actually work on those yourself, without a computer. My condolences for having to go to Walmart. I'll have to go, too, soon. I buy vitamins there since they are several dollars cheaper than other places and I buy a few other things that are a lot cheaper but I try to avoid it when I can. Just entering the store is depressing for me, knowing how cheap the crap is there and how nearly everything comes from China. The people there are so sad, too, trying to stretch their meager dollars to the limit.

I wouldn't say a flat tire is a accident, but I am glad God gave you money for a tire, a tow service, and that you had family that could help you out.
