Friend Request on Facebook?

Get this - I'm checking my email this morning before my hectic day begins...and I see, from Facebook, a "friend request". As I have all the friends I need and/or want on Facebook, I couldn't think of anyone in my life, past or present - or would want to "friend" me. So I check it out - and here is what I see:
Tennis Ball wants to be friends with you on Facebook.
TENNIS BALL???!!!??
My mother - long ago - once worked with a woman named "Kathy Ball". Perhaps it was a misspelling and it was her son, Dennis Ball?
Seriously - Tennis Ball? Who goes by that sort of name?
Sorry - all my friends have real names. Like Janie, or Marilyn, or Keith, or Tommy. What about you? Do you have Facebook "friends" who aren't people - just Tennis Balls or Garbage Cans or Electric Knives?

Thank you! So glad I could brighten your day a bit! I only have a username here because that is how Mylot works. But for sites like Facebook? In fact - even here, I would wonder about someone who used the name Tennis Ball.
I laughed at the idea of the name "Grape"!

Tennis Ball does seem like a strange name for any person, facebook friend or otherwise. You can check out the person's profile if Tennis Ball is a person. I would be curious enough to do so. It might be someone marketing something.
All my facebook friends are real people with real names. I have received requests from persons who I did not know and did not trust after looking at their information. I did not accept the friend request. I do enjoy meeting new people but I am wary of both persons online as well as offline. I was too trusting in my past and made some bad mistakes.

I am not a trusting person by nature. so when I see the name "Tennis Ball" my alerts go in to action. First, I check out the so-called "person". Then, finding it's not a person - I don't accept. None of my other friends are friended with this Tennis Ball.
You know, I have plenty of "likes" on my liking page because, like you, I do lots of money-making sites on the internet, and sometimes it involved earning a few pennies for "liking" something. But that is totally different from a friend request! And while we may have unique user names here, on MyLot - we have photos or icons and speak to each other and are obviously human beings and not Tennis Balls! What a racket! lol...

hi there,
it looks like there is an anonymous person who wants to befriend you. i think it would be best to track who is this person before pressing the button "accept".

That's what I did - or tried to do. It is not a person. It is a Tennis Ball.
