Well you all know I've been cleaning. Or have I been telling the place I've been cheating on mylot with?
Either way someone knows I've been cleaning.
Shh facebook doesn't know!
I've gotten a little of a lot done and have plans for the rest of it. Things need to be taken to goodwill but I have a grandmother to contend with there.
Not why I posted this anyway.
There is an entertainment center full of things that aren't used. A dvd player, a DVD+R player to name a few. The only thing I use is the t.v. itself, and the little box that makes the t.v. work.
I want to get rid of the entertainment center but it'd take some work.
A family member says they've tried to move it to get behind it once and it didn't happen, couldn't get it to budge. I say one day we are going to make a day of it and have that all cleaned up.
First I need two small bookshelves to fit under the wall mounted shelf so I can put my books, few movies and video games.
Second I need a new t.v. stand, one that will fit under the window and can store things. Third, in the corner where the entertainment center is I need a display table. Big enough to fit two urns.
I would be removing the entertainment center, my old toy box (toy box would be in the den for the kids things) and the desk that their urns are now sitting on.
That would mean the desk would go to the den for the computer that is now sitting on a card table.
The card table would be folded up and put back away so that it can be used when necessary.
Of course I've told only two people of this plan because I've not got the money to replace the stuff yet, and it will take a lot of work. However it will make the den more functional, my room more functional and open, and get rid of bulky furniture that takes up to much room.
I expect a fight every step of the way.

I was trying, but now am succeeding.
There are some things that will never be truly cleaned, but what I can do I will do.

Doesn't sound like fun. I wonder if you couldn't find some of the things you need at a garage or estate sale. Sounds like a lot of work ahead.

Oh I know I could find the items. The t.v. stand in particular would probably be best found at an estate sale as though the furniture would be heavier as it's old, it would be sturdier and last longer. The only problem would be getting it to me and set up.

I have a few things like that that need to leave as well, or get repurposed in another room. Including a solid oak entertainment center. I think it could be a cool storage center and would be well suited, butt it is full of junk.

Hopefully, you have been selling some of the better items. That would help to defray the costs of bringing in more useful items.
Also, while you are seeking new items, you should be certain to check out estate sales, charity auctions, yard sales, the classifieds, Freecycle and the like.
Have you considered using a shadow box or display box for the urns? It would free up that floor space, and it might be a more appropriate approach. You could then also consider adding photos or other mementos to the display.

I do not think that a shadow box or display box would fit the urns in them, nor would it be sturdy mounted to a wall. The biggest pieces of furniture are the bed, the entertainment center, and the desk. If I can get the entertainment center and desk out and replace them with smaller / to the ground items it will free up space. That and I can hang more of the pictures I have on the walls then.

Seems like you are getting on top of it all, think of the satisfaction of getting on top of it all. I think when you have good plans, it will all come good in the end, just takes patience, commitment and perseverance, sounds like you have all three in abundance my friend, keep up the excellent work.

Perhaps you could make a trade with somebody for the entertainment center, say you give them the entertainment center for a couple of book shelves. It might work. You should really check out thrift stores and garage sales for the furnishings you are needing you might luck out and get some really great deals.

I was wondering why I have not seen you on here much lately, but am so glad that all is well. I am sure that mylot is glad that you are back with him again (he always knew that he is your favorite and that cleaning is not as nice, LOL). I should clean as well, but I have been busy trying to make extra money online so I can take classes at JoAnn's and Quiltique (a local craft store) so I can learn valuable skills to make things to sell online. Right now I am working on my grandmother's Mother's Day gift (I am making her a purse and coin purse) then I will be taking a sewing class to make a recyclable tote bag for my mother for Mother's Day (the class is on May 6th).
I hope that all your cleaning is now done and that you can move to do more fun things.
