Behind My Smile

. . . are stories of different experiences in my life. When I don't smile or laugh or talk or if I just seem quiet, people would usually come to me and ask me "are you okay? / why are you sad?". Actually when I am happy I smile and laugh too but I don't talk as much as when I am sad. Maybe they have observed that. I am noisy because I don't want to think of the sadness. This negativity should go away so I divert my attention to loud things. I listen to music, I talk more and just keep myself busy. Are you like me? Is there an opposite meaning to the smile that you show to others? I will learn not to cover up my loneliness. Being expressive is better than keeping it. Happy mylotting.

I always smile anywhere, everywhere etc. :D but I also cry too. SMILING is a way to express your feelings like you are HAPPY and EXCITED but, it also is another way of hiding your feelings like SADNESS. I am like you too :D

Actually I want to get mad at my husband because he is too lazy, and I think he is getting irresponsible because of his peer group. But despite of those madness in myself I am smiling at him and ignored my madness. I am the kind of person that I will just cry and after crying all is well, I don't know why I am like this. I am not showy of my feelings I just hide it on myself.

I have always found it hard to hide my feelings even though I may be charming and will keep talking to people, others who know me well, will pick up that something is wrong. No, I don't keep busy when sad. I just want to be alone with my head under a sheet and hide from the world.

When I am upset, I don't want to be with people. I always want to be just left alone. There may be times that when somebody bothers me, I would be shouting at them. I know that it is not good. So I try to avoid it. I try with all my might to put up that mask so that people would not be prying on what I am going through.

Wow that is a very positive approach. I do the opposite , i ma that person that if sad , i don't like things like listening to music , talking to other people or doing something. When i am sad i would rather stay in bed , look at the ceiling , think and think or buried myself in bed. I am that person who doesn't know how to pretend. I can't really be an actress . What you see is what you get. What i feel , i can never hide it. I am the person who doesn't know how to cover . If my smile then it means i am happy , it is not behind those smile are crying heart.

Hi! It is good that when you are happy you express your happiness through your gestures and smile. I think when a person is sad or upset or having some kind of tension then it is difficult for him to smile. Those who could do it are really great. If am upset I cannot fake a smile. I do not mind if my tension surfaces in my gestures or on my face. However, I try my best to get out of tense situation sooner than later.

For me, when it comes to sadness, it isn't the smile. It's the things I do. I would usually keep myself busy doing a lot of things. Sometimes these things are so insignificant yet they take up most of my time. These are the times when I just want to block my mind. I still smile during these times. But it doesn't really relate to what I'm feeling inside.

I think some of us would paste a smile on our face even if we are hurting or sad inside. That's because, we feel ashamed for others to have the impression that we are problematic. But i don't care. Just like you when i am sad i really would be sad looking. No need to hide it, because after all i am sad.

Hi leateagee! there are times when we need to be like that! yet, there are times when we should not! doing the opposites of what and how we feel would sometimes mislead people; and even our own selves. I admire you though, because you can divert those negativity; however, it would also be an added healthy experience if we could learn to lift things up to God and regain some added energy :)
