My honest request

my grand sons going to pay school - they are my grandkid just before going school

Seeing the crimes taking place in schools, on the street, in buses with little girls and guys, I have some suggestions. When your kid/grand kid leave home to go school, take their picture using your camera or mobile phone; so that if anything happens you can report the police and the school what dress he/she was wearing. I am sure you find this pre-caution tip useful. See the picture of my twin grandsons Assu and Nishu I used to take daily during my stay in Hyderabad Do you use cell phone to take pictures. Add yours if any? Please respond comment. Thanks in advance. Professor Dr. Bhuwan Saraf. PhD. April 24. 2013.

I keep up to date pictures of my three children and when they go to the lower grades they will be riding a bus. My oldest is in preschool and I worry if the bus is late. There are so many weird things that happen in the world anymore and all us parents can to is protect our children the best that we can.

To be honest and not mean to be offending, I really do not fancy what is going on in your country. I do not know what is going on and going to happen with the law enforcements in India but it is not improving. At this rate, I could not even recommend or even dream letting your grandchildren out of your house especially after seeing how handsome they look. If I were you, I would be considering home schooling them. Again, I don't mean to be insulting but I am a firm believer that life is far too precious. It is really some experience where police is not helping one bit or assuring at all.

Hello professor, Thank you for sharing. Every time my daughter left for school I am worried. I've never got this idea before. I love taking pictures of my kid, and now I'll make it habit on taking a photo of her, whenever she'll be going out. Cheers to you professor!

If you keep a picture daily it is good, you can delete once she is back

Hi! You're not the only one as I too, am amazed at the crime levels in schools (amongst other places). I've two of my own to watch out for and I do try to take the time to be with them and to make them think of what to do at certain times. For example, one of my favorite films is To Kill a Mockingbird and we've been trying to teach my daughter to not hit except when you or a friend, sibling, etc. is in trouble as the kids were in the last 1/3 of the film. Then you do have to protect yourself....at least enough to get out of the situation safely. For me it is really worth taking a few minutes to talk to your kids about what is going on in their lives. And you are right, take current clear pics so if something happens, you're in a better situation.

I agree things have changed , we must move with time, we must tell what is happening and how to tackle.

I think that’s a nice idea. Although I think some people love to take photos of their child or grand child often because of fun reason. And because they have fun to take it. But taking the photo daily to make sure you have something to report if the child gone missing seems a bit scary. Although I do agree that it’s useful.

This is a good suggestion. Yet it also requires a responsible Police, and also the fact that they ought to become more listening and empathetic to the public. If they do so, people would have more faith in them, and criminals would fear the police more. This would also require more MultiMedia Messaging services(MMS) to be activated on cell phone. With more and more smartphones, this won't be too difficult also.

Thanks for sharing your views, MMS should be made cheaper

I think that it is a very good idea, Bhuwar. And although what we want is that our children be safe, I also know that when something terrible happens there`s such avoid in your head that you probably will not be abnle to explain things that are best seen in a picture.

Professor bhaiya: it is good to use cell phone for taking photos. Now I use my camera only for taking photos --that too rarely. it is ideal to have photos of all the family members, servants also. good day.

This is a good idea. I read the same idea somewhere I can't remember. In what I read, it's about taxi. It suggested to take a picture of the plate number of your cab before riding it. Then posting it on social media. SO your friends know what taxi you've rode and in case something bad happen to you, they'll know where to find you.

We should try to find out the root cause of all this evil and try to eradicate it rather than take precaution for everything and anything, otherwise we will only have time for precautions and life will become a drudgery finding solution for all known and unknown mishap.

but how to find the root cause? Thanks for sharing your views

The mentality of selfishness is the root cause of evil for in society.Children are taught to think about them only and their own benefits.Help them to think for others and their need first, then the society will become a safe place as more and more people will become alert for the danger lurking for others and take steps to protect others from danger..

this can be very helpful indeed. the picture can be shown around in case something bad happens. however, i find this a bit scary. the thought that i'll be taking the photo for reasons other than fun will get me on my nerves the whole day. i wouldn't be able to have peace of mind until i see the child/person again.

dagami It is true we will get scary if we get an idea that we may miss the person whose photo we are taking. this may happen one in 100 cases. let us enjoy taking photos of people we like very much. good day.

When my kids leave, or like when they are in school.. i always make it a point that i know details about them.. like what necklace they have on and since they are in uniform it is easier to remember too and i know what brand of shoes they are wearing, i know what brand their socks are! and we do take pictures of them often too.. not just for security sake but mostly for fun too.. but i do understand your concern especially now that kidnapping is quite rampant too.

That is definitely a good idea! When my eldest son was still young and we often go to the mall, I would always place a piece of paper with the address and phone number. Just in case he gets lost, the person who might find him will be able to call us.
