In our town few days before a lady blaming a shop keeper(she is also lady) she forget a gold (total amt was 2 laks rs.)in her shop and do the complaint near police station. But the shop keeper(women) saying no I dont know about it because various customer came in my shop. I not pay attention on everyone. I not stole her gold. But the lady whose gold is loose not agree then police arrested a shop keeper.
Two days after she leave on bail and every shop keeper saying this is not their duty to pay the attention on customer's things and this true because we should take the precaution of our own things. Yesterday whole Pulgaon's shop(market) was closed in the favour of shop keeper. Because this may be happen with any shop keeper. I think every customer should take the precaution of their own things and why women should moving here and there with 2 laks gold why not go in home. Is this true the customer own duty to care their own things.

I think it's unfair for the shop keeper to be blamed and be arrested for something left or lost by a customer while on her shop. What is her proof that the gold is left in the shopkeeper's place and not in another place.
I think, if the place had a CCTV installed, it would be another matter. The shopkeeper can provide proof that she is not guilty of anything.

Yes you are right friend this is unfair because shopkeep can concentrate only on customer requirement not their goods. This is right no proof and she is not confirmed about this. Now CCTV is necessary even the shop is small. I am not understanding the new mylot look where is new discussion link please tell me.

i think that everyone should share this duty.this thing gives us a big lesson.from it we learn that the customer should take care of their own things everywhere especially in the public while it is necessary for the shop keeper to notice customers to care their things and to set cameras in their shops.for the thieves, they should be condemned from the public and be punished heavily after being arrested by the police.

Yes customer should take care their own ornaments or goods. 2 Laks gold is too much how she leave this gold in any shop why not pick in hand.

I wouldn't think the shopkeeper could be held responsible or be arrested when this woman claims she lost her jewellery in the shop-she would have no proof she lost it there, and there would be no evidence, unless video cameras recorded something..

This is funny, it's not the shopkeeper's fault why the costumer lost her gold.
It's not the shopkeeper's obligation to pay back the lost gold as well.
In every places we can always see this sign "please take care of your personal belongings"
This is crazy- one of the craziest news/report I ever heard....
I do not understand what kind of law did the shopkeeper ever break

Awful thing to happen. That won't ever happen in our country. There's no evidence to prove that she stole the lady's gold. This is funny and a bit shocking to me.

As a courtesy a shopkeeper normally looks around when a customer leaves and if they find anything they keep the things in safe custody and hand them over after doing some checking. I have retrieved things like my cooling glasses and umbrellas. Some shops have cctvs.
Arresting the shopkeeper was wrong.

i agree with you. it's our duty to mind our personal belongings whenever we go to the shops. unless the owner saw the shopkeeper take her gold or there was a witness, the police didn't have a right to keep the shopkeeper in custody.
i don't know how much gold is 2 laks. it must be plenty because i know it's normal for most indian women to wear lots of gold jewelries but you seem to think 2 laks is too much.
