I told everyone about our trash strike here in Mexico city.
Was so bad, trash all over the place here.
Well yesterday it ended
And trash will be picked up later today.
Problem is, its rained a few days here.
And lots of paper and these are in the water.
We have flies, bugs and things allover here.
That all carry disease.
I hope they also clean those areas here.
If people would have don their part, it would not have 
been so bad.

I doubt it. At least the trash company sent out a few extra workers. The didnt get it all but hey cleaned up 75 % of it.

Maybe, but I hear that all got like 20.00 raises per week for the strike.

That sounds so unappealing. I can only imagine the flies and the bugs all over every where. That is a disease waiting to happen. I hope they clean up all of the mess.

It was bad, because of the rains. All that wet trash... made the smell bad and flies even mosquitos.

I am so glad that the strike didn't last any longer. I know that when they forget or are late picking up our garbage it can be a real problem if it is in the warmer months.

They sounds nasty. I do hope they will clean your area. I know it’ll be the source of disease and carry so many nasty thing along with it, like the smell. It will damage the view of your area too. No trash look beautiful, right?

Glad to hear that the stike is over at last !
I believe the places there are filled with bad smells that is why it attracts flies and bugs and it is horrible 
! Just hope they will clean up all the garbages and places properly too 
!

Sure did here, all the dogs and street people went through the bags and we had trash everywhere here. its almost all cleaned up now..

It's the other type of vermin as well, the rats that the trash would attract, as well as the rotting food, trash to us, food to these scavengers. I am glad the strike has ended, otherwise the streets would be full of trash, very unsightly and very unhygienic too. And you are right if people cared enough they would have done their part, sadly they don't.

This is one of serious city problems I think. In my place trash pickers only come once a week, all trash stinks if not picked up within 3 days. Those bags of trash in front of everyone's house become uninteresting view. Sometimes, I cannot wait till the trash pickers come, I take the trash myself and throw it to a trash bin somewhere else. It's an extra work but at least bad smell from the trash lessens.

It's good that the trash's strike in your area had been settled. Let's just hope what both parties have agreed upon will be good for the people especially the cleanliness of your area. Trash is a common problem especially in big cities so it should be addressed quickly to deter the possible spread of diseases.

Yes it is, the cleaned up most yesterday here. They said they be back today. At least the picked up all the smelly stuff. Im happy for that.

Yes, I think all go bad when happen a trash strike, it is very harmful for our health, fortunately it just for two days. If it last for a week, I think most of people in your region will suffer some disease such as flu, cough and cold. Haaah...you are lucky the strike was over.

Now that they are done with the strike, were they able to express what they want and get a result so far? Why did they go on a strike anyway?
