Among the things I told my dermatologist yesterday was that my heir fell off and it was very thin. She did say that I should accept that after chemo I had to have patience, but I don`t have that amount of it. So she gave me some pills. I went to buy them and they were VERY expensive. I couldn`t afford them at all. I wonder, do any of you know of something to help with hair loss? Maybe something natural? Any special food to eat? Help, please!

I hope that this helps: Yogurt and soy - Dark green vegetable - Whole grain products - Essential fatty acid - Nut and seed - Carrots - Fruits - Eggs - Spinach - Broccoli - Fish - Beans Try to consume as much of these foods as you can and you will see some positive results. Vitamins that Promote Hair Growth - B vitamins, especially B6 (pyridoxine), B3 (Niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid) and B12 - Inositol - Biotin (it maintains the health of the hair. Hair loss is often caused by Biotin deficiency.) - Folic acid Read more: http://www.hair-styles-secrets-revealed.com/hair/461/hair-growth-tips-how-to-make-your-hair-grow-faster/#ixzz2RITgQv5g

I am not aware if there are medications to prevent hair loss while having chemotherapy. As it is really bound to happen during the therapy. If it is really making you feel uncomfortable, try making use of a bandana for the meantime. I'm sure your hair will grow back after your treatment.

Maybe it needs a little more time before those hair follicles would grown back normally.

From what I heard, hair usually drop after the chemo treatment. Most of them wear some head gear to cover it. Perhaps like the first respondent here that mentioned about eat more leafy items. Some organic vegetables will be good. In normal natural cases, Chinese herbs like 'tong gui' that is good for blood circulation is recommended to lessen hair loss. However, since it is herbal... doctor advise needed before proceed.

My hair is back after the chemo. But it grew back thin and falls down easily. It seem I need some vitamins and aminoacids, but I will get them in food instead of buying expensive meds.

I wish I had an answer for you. I will ask around and see if anyone knows what you can do. I know that I do some reflexology that is suppose to improve hair growth. It is real simple. You sit and rub the nails of one hand against the nails of the other hand. They will sing to you. This doesn't work if it is not your own nails.

I'm trying this out now. My hair is great - very thick and glossy for my age but my nails are horribly brittle and ugly, I only got to look at then and they flake

I did my own search after I read your answers. Biotine is the thing to look for. I also discovered what foods are rich in biotine but I will also see if there is an unexpensive vitamin supplement that has it.

My nails aren't the best either. I should read my reflexology book and see what it says about nails. People tell me they can see my hair growingwhen i buff my nails. It is also suppose to give you energy.

Try rubbing natural aloe gel on your scalp. Use lemon as your conditioner. A honey farm suggested that when using their honey shampoo. It's nice to know you are done with your chemo and you're still here with us.

I did not have any hair while on chemo and I don`t like that if I can help it. I`m a healthy person with a lymphoma trested and in recession. I hate to have that "ill lady" feeling. It is worse than feeling old.

Hello Marguicha. I found some of my hair was falling out so I bought a strong vitamin pill to combat that problem. It is made by Deva. It is called Hair, Skin and Nails. I suggest that you eat leafy green vegetables and carrots. You should drink plenty of water. You could wash you hair in a very gentle shampoo and conditioner. Good luck.

Aloe vera helps. You can try rubbing an aloe vera unto your scalp once a week and skip shampoo every other day. Also, you can purchase some of the over the counter medications like creams and liquid solution. You can try Minoxidil 6% solution, that is around 650 php which you can use for 30-45 days (twice a day) and you can purchase it from Watson's. My husband has tried that Minoxidil and it worked on him!

Hello Marguicha! I have the same problem with my hair. They are very thin, and fall very often. What I do is I oil my hair daily before going to bed, and use Medicated shampoo, which is recommended by my doctor. Putting Hair oil can benefit you a lot. I am also using a Tonic named 'HairMax Forte' which seems quite nice, ive been using since a month and i hope for the best results. If you are dying your hair, dont do it. Keep a gap of 10 weeks and do a partial dye, not whole. Use a very mild shampoo and be gentle with your hair. The main reason may be stress. Are you stressed out? Well if you are, please control it. Exercise regularly, DO Yoga, as it will enhance blood circulation in the body, So this benefits the scalp also. About Diet, dont eat anything which is unhealthy, or too oily. Avoid Eggs. Eat food which has good quantity of Iron, Vit.C, Protein etc. That's all I am doing, and can suggest you too. Best Wishes! Have a good day!

THe very expensive meds the doctor gave me had biotin and vitamin B-6 among other things. Thanks to my mylot friends, I am rethinking about my diet instead of buying expensive pills. I have chard for free in my backyard and I love it. I checked onlive and discovered that fish and liver were good meats to eat. I will also eat legumes more often. It is autumn here now and as days grow colder I like more legumes as part of my meals.

It is a pity to hear that. I heard someone said the hair will fell off after chemo before. You can eat more black sesame, it can prevent your hair fell off. When you wash you hair, please chose the shampoo with ginger, it will be very helpful for your hair ! I wish you recover soon !
