Hello everyone! I like writing and I had some articles published online. Nowadays, I'm into writing blogs about Korean dramas, actors and so on. I want to put images but I can't find free pictures of Korean actors, actresses and even Korean dramas on the web. Most of the pictures that I saw are copyrighted. Can you please help me? :( What should I do? T.T Do you know some sites where I can get free Korean pictures? Thanks in advance. ^^

In cases like this, I recommend asking the site owner if you can use the images. Usually a referral link back to their website is sufficient. Sometimes, you may have to pay a small fee depending on the type of website. Places like Istock Photo allow you to use images for a certain amount of credits. I'm not sure how that works though to be honest. Usually when I need to use a picture online, I type in the search bar free pictures of "content." Now every image is going to say: May be subject to copyright. I usually don't worry about that, as I generally provide a credit and referral link back to the original website where I got the image from. Sometimes, even saying courtesy of: is helpful. It's what I do for my examiner articles when I write them. If you are uncomfortable though, go directly to the website the image is hosted on, and simply ask if you can use the image for your blog. Remember to tell them you'll credit them with a link back as a thank you. Worse thing they can do is say no. If that happens, just keep asking other websites. Someone will say yes sooner or later.

Ah.. I see.. So something like 'all rights reserved' is also okay and i just need to write the url or link back the picture to the owner? Most of the pictures I see from flickr (which i heard is a free photo site)has 'c' or 'all rights reserved'. Please reply. Hihi! ^^ Anyway, thank you so much. This one is very helpful. :)

You're quite welcome! In most cases, yes, "All Rights Reserved or Courtesy of" is enough. Now sometimes, someone might ask you to remove the image. If that happens, just apologize, and comply. And do not forget to save the images to your website. Long ago, I made the mistake of direct linking to images. What happened was that I ate up bandwidth and did not realize it at the time. The site owner humbly requested that I save the images to my website instead, but to keep the credit link back to their website. In the end it all worked out at that time, and I learned a good lesson. You may be able to find plenty of images on the following websites: Photobucket.com, imageshack.com, tinypic.com, imgur.com, and many others. Just use the search bar within the websites to find what you're looking for.

When I want free images and I use them a lot...I just go to yahoo and search for images of whatever it is that I want. I don't know how it works in Korea but it should work the same way. Just search Korean actors/actresses or anything you else you need. I hope this works for you.
